After I had gotten ready, Kai pulled me out of our bedroom. He was definitely excited to take me wherever he was going to take me.

We quickly said bye to everyone, and they all had smiles on their faces as we left. As soon as Kai opened the door, I stopped him. We're standing right on the sidewalk, people everywhere on the streets.

"Kai, slow down," I state. "We have all the time in the world, remember?"

"Yeah, I just got excited." He replies, his cheeks getting pink.

I chuckle and grab Kai's hand, intertwining our fingers. He leads us down the sidewalk, slowing down as we pass some of the buildings. Kai stops in front of a restaurant, looking at me before looking at the doors.

"Are we eating in there?" I ask. Kai nods.

"I thought we should have a proper meal before we start the day." He replies.

I just smile before his hand falls onto my lower back, leading me into the restaurant. I can see that it's very busy as soon as we step inside. Booths and tables are filled.

"This place seems too busy, M," I say. "We can always get food later."

Kai looks at me with a little bit of surprise lingering on his face.

"Did you just call me M?" He asks.

"Yeah, is that okay?" I ask.

"I like it." He whispers. I smile.

"What about this?" I ask, gesturing to the restaurant.

"I planned a reservation. We have a booth in the more secluded area in the back." Kai replies. I raise my eyebrows.

"You planned a reservation?" I ask. Kai nods before walking up to the waiter with a book with a list of names in his hands.

"Parker. Malachai Parker." I hear Kai state. The waiter nods before leading us to the back of the restaurant to an empty booth.

"I'll have someone right with you." He states before walking away. I sit on one side of the booth as Kai sits on the other.

"I really don't know why you did this." I mumble towards Kai, placing my hands on top of the table.

"Because I love you," Kai replies. "Now shut up and let me do something nice for you."

I pull my face back in surprise.

I mean, damn, okay.

Suddenly, a new waiter comes back to our table. He seems young, no older than 19.

"Hi, what can I get you guys to drink?" He asks. Kai looks to me.

"Just water. Thank you," I reply. "Adam."

I look at the waiter's name tag. He seems almost familiar. Adam isn't necessarily a rare name, though. I look back to Kai who still has his eyes on me.

"And you, sir?" Adam asks Kai, trying to grab his attention.

"Water, too, please." Kai replies. Adam nods with a smile, leaving.

"What?" I ask as I see Kai continue to look at me.

"He was looking at you the whole time. I think he has a crush on you." Kai replies, his tone a joke but his eyes annoyed. I roll my eyes.
