The little bell dinged as the door opened, allowing a new customer to enter the small corner cafe I worked at. The humble place had a few customers chattering away with the radio's soft tune accompanying the few voices, and the smell of pastries enclosed the area. "Y/N, bring this coffee to table 5 by the window", my co-worker instructed, gripping my hands on the coffee cup. I nodded, and I approached the table. "Here's your coffee, sir," I mumbled softly, and the young boy's eyes looked into mine. He flashed a smile, "Hey Y/N", Taehyung greeted. I didn't want to see him again.

"Your parents are so poor you had to work?" he inquired with a sly smirk. I glared at him "my dad works," I responded."What about your mom? Oh, I forgot she died because she didn't want to deal with you anymore" he sipped his coffee as he replied, I didn't know what to say, she died of cancer. Yet his words made it seem like it was true like she did want to leave me and cancer was an excuse to do so. I know I'm not a perfect child. No one is perfect. She didn't want to leave me. But I looked down, trying to hide my tears and handle the pain in my heart, the words I don't like people seeing me weak and cry, but I couldn't hide anywhere, no way for me to escape and let my sadness out. "Enjoy",, I managed to utter out. He raised his eyebrows at me as I entered the back room of the cafe again. A tear uncontrollably spilled out of my eye.

I cleaned up in the cafe's kitchen area and made sure the muffins were cooking to perfection when I heard the loud clatter of dishes and cups breaking was heard throughout the entire shop. Throwing the washcloth on the kitchen counter, I rushed out of the kitchen in the backroom and saw what all this noise was about. Soobin gripped onto Taehyung's collar. Taehyung's back was slammed against the side of the wooden table "don't mention her mother," his voice was cold and serious. Taehyung's eyes widened as he never heard this side of Soobin. "Why are you defending her?" Taehyung questioned, gripping his hands on the table in an attempt to stand up off the now broken cups and plates Taehyung was slammed against. "Because I-she's my best friend," Soobin stated, letting go of Taehyung's collar and left the cafe closing the door behind him. Taehyung looked my way before standing up again and fixing his ruined collar, "get your boyfriend under control. You motherless freak" Taehyung left immediately after in a rage. My co-worker looked confused as I stood there frozen in my spot before rushing off to clean up the mess made by the two.

The delicate snow covered the footpath hidden away from sight as I kept walking home. The snow top houses and tall trees drenched in a thick layer of snow. It was silent with the sound of the quiet breeze travelling throughout the neighbourhood on this fine winter afternoon. I sipped my warm drink, which kept my hands from freezing off and replaced it with a toasty warm feeling. The serene afternoon as I walked back to my house in my smoky grey boots, the stalker was back in the distance. His hands were digging into his ebony coat pocket to protect it from the cold air that the winter granted for the next three months. I bit my lip, looking away, but my eyes went back to him. He never gets bored of just watching me. I stopped walking and sighed deeply, closing my eyes as I do to get a glimpse of darkness before reopening to see snow essentially everywhere in front of me. I kept walking and rubbing my eyes with my new white gloves as I couldn't get much sleep last night, barely 4 hours of dreamland. I kept walking home, wondering many things that I didn't understand why the thought came to my mind, but it appeared anyways, out of nowhere.

Brushing the hair strands out of my face, I listened to the music playing on Spotify, Dance The Night Away by Twice. I clutched my hot chocolate and sipped it once again. I groaned in annoyance as an ad interrupted my music; I should get premium. Still, I'm barely able to afford to move out, which is more important, according to my father. Setting my cup on my desk, I opened my curtains to see out the window easier. I reached for my hot chocolate and sat comfortably on my bed, enjoying the music that was finally able to play after the ads.

I let out a yawn and almost spill my hot chocolate on my black sweatpants I threw on after I got home from work. I wasn't bothered even to try to look nice because I'm in the comfort of my own home. I stopped my music and allowed the room to feel hushed. I set my cup on my nightstand as well as my phone after closing Spotify. I got under the covers allowing sleep to take over slowly, so Taehyung thought I was dating Soobin. I guess he's unaware of Emily's existence. I brought the blankets up to my shoulders, patiently waiting for my tiredness to hit my body so much that I fall asleep, and hopefully for longer. My mind was blank and slowly filling it with more exhaustion that I end up falling asleep.
