I rested on a grey rock in the centre of the forest. I dug into my bag and to pull out a water bottle amongst many more bottled water and snacks. I didn't know how long I would be out in the forest. I just wanted to see Soobin again. My black sneakers crushed on the many collapsed sticks from the dozens of trees. My body was shaking gently due to the coolness of the night before and from the early morning. I took off my backpack and set it on a nearby rock that was overgrown with moss. I sighed and looked up at the sun that attempted to squeeze through the trees' minor cracks and hit the forest floor with their beams of morning sunlight. The birds flew higher than any human could reach, they sang their morning song, and I stood up again. I had to keep moving if I wanted to be quicker. The sound of footsteps against the dry leaves and sticks began to match mine, indicating that I was being followed. I looked behind me, and I wasn't expecting to see him—my stalker. The last thing I could see was complete darkness as he approached me with steady and slow steps.I woke up in the early morning the next day on what felt like a bed, it was warm, and snug and I didn't feel like leaving. I knew I wasn't home. I stretched my arms out and wasn't expecting to feel anyone in bed with me. I touched someone's arm gently and pulled away quickly. The person hummed, and it sounded like a male. I opened my eyes, and I saw Soobin. I was in a bed with Soobin. I sat up in the bed and inhaled the air let in by the open window. "Soobin, what are you doing here? Where am I?" I panicked and let out many deep breaths. He took me in his arms and rubbed my back soothingly, "I was gone so I could build this place for us. I was waiting for years." He whispered softly and never let me go from his embrace, he said nothing for a few moments, and I waited for him to resume. "I love you, and only you, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I stalked you, and I gave you those notes. I'm sorry." He finished, but I still didn't say anything.
I was lost in my own thoughts, rested on one of the grey cushions on the teak couch that Soobin put on the wooden balcony connected to our that looked out the backyard and the remaining of the forest. I didn't speak to Soobin yet since he said he was my stalker as I didn't know what to say. Who would know what to say when your crush for many years admitted to being your stalker. He left me alone in the house as he went to get food for us. There was a calming breeze that swerved through the trees during the morning. I closed my eyes. They were soon reopened when the front door opened, meaning that Soobin returned to the house with breakfast. I entered the dining room as Soobin was setting the white plates on the cream tablecloth. Still, no words escaped my mouth as I sat down, eager to eat something that was an actual full meal. He turned on the radio as soothing piano music played alongside a light voice singing and gentle drums.
Days passed, and I felt like I was finally ready to speak to Soobin again. he still cared for me even though I said nothing. We walked along the flowing stream that ran through the forest and sat on a rock near the gently flowing water. I took my shoes off and placed my feet in the water, and Soobin did the same. Despite losing him for years, he did it all to live alone in that house with me. "Soobin, I love you too."
