Emily asked me to meet up with her after my shift, I hesitated, but I ended up agreeing.
We stood outside the cafe on a late afternoon as the sun was setting,  and the birds were going home. "Soobin and I were forced to date", Emily began and clutched her fists together. She looked down. "he ran away looking for a house to build in the forest before being taken to America by my father, and we went back to Korea. He didn't go to school for 9 years and was busy every day being a good servant to my parents and me, and he was able to get help with building a house by builders for someone until our parents forced us to date" she stopped and looked away. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. "My parents told me to be as clingy and mean and annoying as I appeared to everyone. I'm sorry." she took a breath after she finished. I didn't know what to say or do besides stand there. We took a few minutes of silence, and tears threatened to fall from Emily's eyes. "I love him", I whispered and didn't dare to look into her eyes. Instead, I looked down. "I know you do," she answered and began to walk off. I let her.

I sat at the park bench, trying to process everything. My feet were on the white vanishing snow, and my eyes were closed. All I could see was darkness, and that's what I kind of wanted right now. There was no love in their relationship, and I could have dated Soobin all this time. And yet, I thought he loved Emily, but it didn't seem like it. I tugged the sleeves to completely cover my hands and rested them again on my lap. I breathed and gazed around the park before staring right back in front of me. There was a slight breeze that grazed through the strands of my hair and caressed my skin. I wanted Soobin back. It was just like when he left the first time. I was alone again. I heard footsteps along the pathway, and I assumed it was just someone passing by, but they took a seat next to me. I looked at the person, and it was the blond-haired guy from the flower shop. "Hey, how are you doing?" He asked me as he for comfortable on the half-melted snow half wooden bench. He kept his dirty blond hair, and his eyes reflected the sunlight. "I'm alright, I guess", I responded and held my hands together. He nodded and looked in front of him, "I'm Felix, by the way, sorry I didn't mention that before" he spoke gently and looked back at me, "that's fine, I'm Y/N anyways", I answered him and gave a little yet loving smile which he returned just seconds after.

Night arrived as per usual. The moonlight lit the empty streets that only had the warm street lights to brighten it up before, and I walked through them. I made it to the entrance of the forest. I turned back and smiled at the city lights in the distance. I was going to enter the woods in search of Soobin. I wanted him back. I shifted around to face the cryptic forest. The trees were caving into the entrance, the sticks poking out in all diverse directions. I stepped in with trepidation.
