THE SUMMER OF 2012 was a summer that Dani Fabray would call uneventful to say the least. Quinn had finally graduated from McKinley and had moved into her Yale dorm room a couple of days after. The ride to the airport was something that seemed to go on for years. But when they finally arrived, Quinn to turned to her mother with fear and uncertainty in her deep brown eyes.

"Mom, I don't have to do this. I could take some law classes at the community college here-"

Mrs. Fabray grasped her hand in her eldest daughter's. "Quinn, we've talked about this. You're going to get on that plane and get out of this small town"

Quinn let out a small sigh and looked at her and Dani who was in the backseat, before nodding to herself. "Okay, okay. I can do this"

She looks back at Dani and the younger can't read her face. Maybe that's how she felt when her sister had decided to try to pull her into the choir room on the last day before graduation, for the seniors to sing to the underclassman. But the younger girl refused . She didn't belong there.

As nice as the gesture was. As sisterly as Quinn had wanted it to be.

Before going to her gate, Quinn pulls her little sister into a hug. "I love you. Take care of yourself, alright? I'll call as soon as I can"

Dani could only nod. The tears already threatening to spill over.

Around dinner that night, Finn Hudson had stopped by, Judy Fabray immediately pulling the tall young man inside and say him down at the table, a plate of spaghetti set in front of him.

"I uh... look I know that Quinn isn't my girlfriend anymore and a lot has happened, but I don't think I can be alone right now"

Judy smiles at him gently. "You don't need to say anything Finn. Despite how things turned out with you two.... you'll always find a place right here okay?"

Dani nods in agreement.

Long ago, when Danielle and Quinn ( then Lucy ) were younger in elementary school, Finn would always come over (sometimes with Puck) and they'd all play around in the treehouse out back that still stood or run around on the grass with snow balls or Super Soakers.

They were all best friends.

And then high school happened, and Lucy changed into Quinn. And even with a baby and an injury, the older Fabray was still trying to come out as even if she was better than everyone.

It made Dani ill.

But Finn... Finn was always a good guy. He didn't deserve half the shit that Quinn had put him through. Frankly, she nearly breathed a sigh of relief when she found out he broke up with Quinn once and for all.
