Chapter Thirteen

Once they were all awake they immediately started getting ready to start their day then they all walked into the living room and sat down. Jayda and Sean sat down next to each other while Michael went to get them something to eat for breakfast. While Michael was cooking some breakfast the rest of them started talking about the Founder's Day celebration. Right, when they were about to start talking Michael walked in and handed everyone a plate of breakfast to eat. "What time is the party," Dylan asked "it starts around twelve. Why do you ask" Sean said "in New Orleans, I never went to any fancy parties" "do you need help finding a suit" "yeah" "we might have some suits that might fit you". While Dylan and Sean were talking Michael told Raul he has a suit for him and Arianna told Jayda she has a dress she could borrow for the dance. After they finished talking about what they would wear to the celebration Jayda asked them about the founding families. "The founding families are the Mills, the Ericksons, the Pearsons, the Harmons, the Sotos, and us," Michael said "wait so Raul is a founding family," Jayda asked "yeah he is" "what do the families get" "the founding families have a council". Then Michael explained how they didn't want to join the council when they learned the truth about the council. Right, when Michael mentioned the council's secret Dylan quickly asked him what the secret is and he told him that the council is a group of people who hunt and kill vampires. Before Dylan could say anything Michael explained how they once put vervain in all of Pawtucket's water. As they were talking about everything Arianna noticed the time and told them they should get ready. Before they decided to get ready for the party they stayed sitting down to talk a little more about the party and the founding families. When they realized the time again they decided to finally get ready for the party so they wouldn't show up late. The boys started putting on their suits in their own rooms while the girls started putting on their dresses.

When Carter woke up to start his day he walked out of his bedroom and into the kitchen then sat down on the island. He started drinking a coffee and eating some breakfast then he heard the mailman place mail into his mailbox. As soon as the mailman left to go to the next house Carter finished his breakfast then went outside to grab the mail. Once he got his mail he sat down on the couch and quickly started going through it and saw an invitation to the Founder's Day party. Carter thought for a moment then realized that the party might be better than staying home all day to go through old grimoires and journals. Then he started walking into his bedroom to grab a suit for the party and his phone started ringing meaning he was getting a phone call. "What is it Edna," Carter asked while going through clothes "finding people who believe in the same thing as me is hard" Edna answered "so what do you want" "could you help me". He started thinking for a little while and told her that he had something else to do so she kept asking. When he found a good suit for the dance he put it on the bed then walked into the living room while on the phone. "Could you please help" Edna asked again "I told you I have something else to do and besides maybe this isn't such a good idea" Carter said "but what about Nancy and Emma" "they aren't my problem and it's Michelle, not Nancy" "just think about it". Edna continued talking to Carter which just made him upset and angry but he didn't want to seem rude and hang up on her. Instead of hanging up on Edna he just told her he would think about helping her out then he told her had to go. Now that Carter and Edna stopped talking he put his phone back into his pocket then he went on his day and started getting ready for the party. While he was getting ready for the celebration he started thinking about the council and how they kept trying to recruit him. Carter just ignored it then realized how the Mercados would be at the party because they are a founding family.

Instead of finishing getting ready for the party, they all started talking to each other in the library about the party and the council. "Does the council know what you guys are" Jayda asked "they know that the Mills and the Ericksons are witches but they don't know about us" Sean said "were the Mills and the Ericksons part of the Taveria coven" "not exactly". Then Sean explained how the Mills were from the Gemini coven and nobody knows where the Ericksons are from. Jayda then quickly asked them if they knew anyone from the Mill family or the Erickson family so Michael explained how all of the Mills died and so did the Ericksons. Before Michael could finish explaining Arianna interrupted him then reminded her brother of Carter. Once she said that Jayda quickly asked about him so they told her about Carter and his family tree. They told her how his ancestor created the first immortals and turned their family into original vampires. Arianna then said how Carter's mom helped their mom reverse the immortality spell on their father Mike and then she said how Carter's mom died last year. "It's getting pretty late. I'm going to finish getting ready" Jayda said then walked into her room "yeah. We should get ready before we are late for the party," Sean said then finished putting his things on. As soon as they were all ready they met in the living room to talk some more then leave to go to the party. Sean and the others sat down while waiting for Jayda and once she was ready she left the room. She started walking down the staircase while everyone watched and waited then Sean helped her down. Then they all walked outside and headed towards the car except for Sean so when he wasn't following them they started getting suspicious. When Sean still wasn't going to the car they turned around then saw a limo pull up to their driveway. He smiled and opened the door for everyone and once they were all inside of the limo he got inside and they left the house. After driving for a few minutes they all finally made it to the Founder's Hall for the celebration.
