Chapter Fifty-Four

When the Mercados and their friends finally woke up they walked into the living room to talk and that's when Raul and Melissa came over. Now that they were all together they could start talking about Demetrius and what they should do with him. "Now that Demetrius knows about the dagger it'll be harder to kill him," said Sean "yeah but it won't be impossible," said Michael "that's true but we do need to be careful. He might hurt us just to get the dagger" "that makes sense". The two of them kept talking about Demetrius which made Iris upset so she walked into the other room to calm down. As soon as Jayda noticed Iris left she immediately walked around the house and saw her crying on the floor. "Are you okay" Jayda asked "now I'm not. Everyone thinks Demetrius is a monster" Iris answered "that's because he is" "he wasn't always like this. He was different. He was more like Sean" "people change. It makes sense Demetrius did too". Once they finished talking they hugged each other and then went back into the living room to talk and plan. Even though they walked in kind of loud nobody noticed them so they sat down and listened to their friends. Everyone talked about Demetrius and how they needed to hurry up and kill him before he hurts them. Michael said that now that Demetrius knows about what they're planning he might be hiding somewhere. They all kept talking about the male immortal until Dylan mentioned how Iris could help find him. All of them talked about Demetrius and how they should find another way to hide the dagger they made. "I don't think that's necessary," Tim said "but what if Demetrius tries to take it," Arianna said "I don't think he'll try that" "yeah but you never know. It's better safe than sorry" "you're being too paranoid" "you need to listen to me". Everyone continued talking and then Iris stood up to leave again so Jayda grabbed her and began to talk. She told the female immortal to tell her side of the story and so Iris smiled and started talking to everybody.

Everyone in the room immediately stopped talking and began listening to Iris explain how much Demetrius changed over time. She told them all that when they first met she instantly fell in love because of how kind, caring, and sweet Demetrius was. "When we became immortals I stayed the same but something about Demetrius changed," she said "what happened," Raul asked, "when we were locked up all he talked about was revenge and killed. I couldn't take it anymore". Iris kept talking about her boyfriend and she talked about how Demetrius went from a lover to a fighter. All of them listened to Iris explain how if her boyfriend wasn't an immortal then he wouldn't be such a monster like he is today. "Then we can give him the cure" Dylan suggested "he'll be expecting that. Maybe that's why he tried to kill Jayda" Iris explained "all we have that can kill him is the dagger but he knows about that too" "that is why I have to kill Demetrius". They all talked for a couple of more minutes until they were done so they sat down to drink bourbon. Shortly after they sat down Iris closed her eyes and when she opened them she noticed ten ghosts. Before she could do or say anything they all touched her and faded away which made her scream in pain. Once that happened Jonah ran over to help her off the floor and onto the couch so he could ask what happened. As soon as Iris was back to normal Jonah asked what was going on so she told them everything. She explained that the witch who made her an immortal also made her the anchor to the Other Side. "That looked painful," he said "it was. I'm guessing Demetrius didn't like that I betrayed him," she said "why did you become the anchor" "the witch was mad and she wanted me to take the cure but I never wanted to do it". Since everyone was busy with Iris nobody noticed Gabrielle grab her phone and sneak into her bedroom. The moment she was alone she dialed her boyfriend's number and waited for him to answer the phone.

Gabrielle waited on the phone for a couple of minutes and her boyfriend didn't answer so she called again and again. When Casanova finally answered the phone she immediately started talking about Iris and what happened with her. "Wait a minute so you're saying a mind reading immortal is living with you. That's dangerous" he said "she just wants us to help kill Demetrius" she said "you don't know that. You need to keep an eye on her just in case" "don't be dramatic". Shortly after they finished talking about the immortals Casanova changed the subject to talk about their plan to kill Jayda's future daughter. He said that Jayda should be giving birth soon and after she does they could kill her and protect the future. "I think that's a bit extreme," Gabrielle said "it's not extreme. It's what we have to do to protect all immortal creatures" Casanova replied "yeah but maybe your vision was wrong" "my visions are never wrong". Before the male witch could even say anything Gabrielle interrupted him so she could give her side of the story. She explained how they can't just kill a soon to be mother over a premonition that might be wrong. Right after she said that Casanova laughed and then said he could try to get another premonition. Just before Gabrielle could respond her boyfriend said to her if he touches Jayda he should see the future. After he said that Gabrielle agreed and then she got ready to hang up the phone but Casanova stopped her. He stopped his girlfriend from hanging up when he said that he'll be coming over soon to see Jayda. "Are you crazy. You can't come over right now" she said "I know it's risky but it's worth it" he responded "what if Iris finds out what we're planning" "she won't be able to if I cast a simple privacy spell" "fine, you can come". When they finally finished talking Gabrielle hung up the phone and then waited for her boyfriend in the living room. As she was waiting she listened to her friends talk about Demetrius and what to do with him and the dagger.
