Chapter Forty-Four

Ever since Ronal was kidnapped by the Mercados Maggie never stopped searching for her friend and partner. Because she couldn't find him on her own she found a witch named Tim and they broke into the Mercado's house to look for Ronal. "How are you so sure he's even here," asked Tim "where else would he be," Maggie said "okay you're right. I'll go check downstairs and you check around here" "don't try and tell me what to do" "I'm sorry but I already did. Now go". Once they finished up talking Tim rushed down the stairs and into the basement and that's when he noticed the cell. He walked inside and saw nothing so he walked back up and helped Maggie search for Ronal around the first floor but they still found nothing. "This is pointless" Tim groaned "we have to keep looking," Maggie said "he isn't here" "you don't know that. He might be upstairs" "then go check" "why don't you check" "why should I" "I dare you to make me angry". Instead of arguing with the huntress Tim just sighed then walked upstairs to search for Ronal or something that would tell him where he was. He searched every nook and cranny but he couldn't find anything so he walked back downstairs. When he made it down the stairs Maggie asked if he found anything and he said that there was nothing upstairs. Since the supernatural huntress was very upset and angry she pulled out a knife and turned towards Tim. Right before Tim could do anything Maggie came running at him with the knife and stake in her hands. Tim quickly used his magic to push her back then he began yelling at her and fighting back a little. "Get away from me," he said "what's the matter. You scared" she smiled "you really think I'm afraid of your knick knacks" "you want to see what these little knick knacks can do" "I suggest you leave now if you like breathing". Instead of fighting Maggie just stood back up and left the house while Tim tried to wrap his head around everything. He looked around the house then he immediately left the house just in case the Mercados came back and saw him.

Meanwhile

It was early in the morning and the Mercados and their friends were hiking through the woods trying to find the tomb. While they were walking Jayda grabbed Sean's hand and started talking with him about the cure and everything else that was going on. "You nervous," she asked "of course I am but I'm also excited" he answered "so am I. I can't wait to go back to normal" "I think I'll miss you like this" "like what" "immortal and powerful" "I'll miss it too" "let's go" "okay". The two of them rushed over to everybody else and once they were together Samantha decided to tell them some important news. She looked at everybody then told them that there is only one dose of the cure so only one of them could take it to remove their immortality. "Wait hold on. Why would you wait until now to tell us," Michael said "I was worried you wouldn't help if you knew the truth" Samantha replied "okay so what else are you hiding" "nothing, I promise". Everyone looked at her with anger in their eyes but instead of arguing they just kept walking to find the tomb. As they were talking Melissa looked at her boyfriend then began asking him some questions about the cure. She asked him if he would still want the cure which made Raul very confused so he didn't answer her question. Because he didn't answer she asked again and again until he finally told her that he still wants the cure. Since Jayda has super hearing she heard him so she turned towards her boyfriend to tell him what happened. Right after she finished telling him what she heard Sean grabbed her hand to try and calm her down. "It will all be okay," he said "how could you say that. Only Raul and I want the cure and only one of us can have it," Jayda said "don't worry okay. We're going to figure this whole thing out" "okay. Thanks". The two of them talked for a little while longer then Michael started telling them they were close to the cave where the cure is. Michael then told everybody that they should stop walking and take a little break after such a long day and night.

After they decided to rest for a little bit they sat down and set some things up while Sean chained Ronal to a nearby tree. Right after he finished chaining the hunter he sat down next to Raul and started talking with him about the cure. "So Jayda told me what happened," he said "what do you mean," his friend asked "I know you still want the cure" "of course I want but I don't want to upset Jayda" "I know that but she needs it more than you" "how could you say that". Before Sean could apologize to Raul he walked over to his girlfriend to tell her what just happened. He sat down next to Melissa then explained to her how Sean wants him to take the cure so Jayda could have it all to herself and lose her immortality. "You need to learn to stand up for yourself," she said "I can't stand up to them" he sighed "yes you can. All you have to do is breathe and talk back" "I don't want to upset them" "you need to stop worrying about other". When they finished talking they helped everybody else set up camp so they could relax for a little bit. Once everything was ready they sat down and drank some of their water while Jayda walked over and sat down next to Raul. She looked at him and apologized for what Sean said then she told him that she wouldn't mind staying a vampire. The two of them hugged and once both of them stopped Raul told her that he doesn't know what he wants. Instead of talking about the cure again, Jayda walked to the professor to talk with her for a little while. Both of them walked away from the others to be in private then they started talking about the cure. "Is there anything else you're hiding" Jayda asked "that's what I've read" the professor answered "is there anything that could remove my immortality" "there might be a couple of spells" "I can check". Everybody kept talking and planning then they decided to pack everything up to try and look for the cure. They all packed everything up then they began hiking through the woods again to find the cave where the cure was being held.
