I looked at Zeva and she smiled. I was doing the best I could about not having a panic attack, but the closer we got to the hall, the worse I was feeling. Once the limo driver pulled up in front, Zeva got out first and I followed her. Cameras were flashing in our faces and I lowered mine so I wouldn't be noticed. The sound of familiar songs filled my ears when I walked into the well attended benefit: songs that I absolutely love. Which isn't a big surprise since my mom let me pick the setlist for once.
Zeva and I stopped a few feet in front of the entrance and looked around. The guests were talking in groups, and laughing, and having a good time. I saw my mom talking to a few of the guests, being the best host she can possibly be. The room was brightly lit, and covered in gold accents. There was a dance floor as well, since I requested we have one. Couples like to dance together.
"Wow. Your mom really outdid herself this time," Zeva laughed.
"I know."
"But there's a dance floor!"
I nodded and looked at her. Her smile was wide as she ran a hand through her tame black curls. Always the racy one, her dress was black with lace sleeves and a slit that started slightly higher than mid-thigh. She did convince me to step it up a notch at this benefit though, so I went with an all white dress that had a high neckline, but a very low back. I pushed one of the extra pieces of my brown hair back behind my ear and waved to someone that recognized me, but I couldn't tell you where I would have met them.
In fact, I don't know most of these people, and the fact that almost all of them are going to want to talk to me is stressing me out.
"Livana, it'll be fine. I'm not leaving your side tonight, okay?"
"Okay. You promise?"
"Do I ever leave your side?"
I smiled and shook my head.
"Alright then."
"Wow. I barely recognized you," Harry said, walking in front of me and Zeva.
I laughed. "Zeva this is Harry, Harry this is my best friend Zeva."
"Mm, don't tell Niall that. He'll be heartbroken to hear he's not your best friend. Nice to finally meet you, Zeva."
"So you've heard about me?" she smirked, sending it my way.
"Not from Liv," Harry said. "From Liam."
She blushed. "Really? Liam's talked about me?"
Harry nodded, and realizing that it'd be fun to torture her, turned to me. "Niall should be here shortly."
"Oh, okay."
"Actually, he's here now." The familiar Irish accent made me smile and I turned to face him. "You look beautiful, Livana."
I so obviously blushed, but smiled. "Thank you."
"As do you," he said to Zeva. I love that he knows she'll make a big deal if he doesn't say something to her.
"Is Liam around?" she asked.
"Yeah, he's over by Liv's mum."
"Okay, thank you." She looked at me for a second before looking at Niall. She must've decided that I'd be okay without her since Niall was here. "I'll meet up with you before the dinner starts."
I nodded and watched her walk over to meet Liam.
"Livana!" I heard Louis yell. I soon saw his face, but only for a second before he pulled me in for a hug. "Love, you have no idea how much I've missed you."
