"Liv, wake up." I heard someone whisper, and felt someone lightly shake me. I just groaned and tried to shake off their hands. "Liv, I'm serious. You need to get up."

I groaned again and buried myself further into Luke's chest.

"Livana I swear to god. You need to wake up right now or I'm going to drag you off of the bed, into your bathroom, and throw you into a tub of cold water. Luke is still in your bed and your mom is going to be up here any second."

I sat up quickly and tried to comprehend everything she had just said. The only thing that really stuck was the fact that my mom was coming up here. I turned over to Luke and shook him to try and wake him up. He stirred a little bit, but didn't open his eyes.

"Luke, you need to wake up. Please wake up?" I begged, still shaking him.

"Livana?" I heard my mother's voice say. "Are you awake?"

"Oh shit!" I whisper-yelled. "Luke, dear god, wake up!"

"Livana, I need to ask you something." Her voice was becoming louder, which meant she was getting closer, which also meant that my anxiety was building. I was 3.5 seconds away from a panic attack.

I eventually just shoved Luke off of my bed and followed him down to the floor. He finally woke up, and was about to say something when I placed a finger over my mouth so he'd understand that he'd need to be quiet. He nodded, and I sighed.

"Liv, honey? Is everything okay in here?"

I quickly stood up and nodded. "Yeah, everything's fine. I just kind of fell off my bed is all."

"Are you sure you're okay? It sounded like a plane crashed in here!"

My eyes glanced over to Zeva, and she looked both shocked and like she was trying really hard not to laugh. "I'm fine, really."

"Okay. Well, anyway. I wanted to ask if you had any plans for today?"

"Oh um.." I glanced down at Luke, and he nodded. "Yeah, I do. I'm hanging out with Luke and the other guys."

"Okay, good. I have to be out all day."

"For work?"

"Yeah."

"On a Sunday?"

"Well, the team they've assembled to work on this event isn't exactly up to par, so they want me to step in and take control. Which isn't going to be easy, let me tell you. I basically have to start from scratch!"

"I'm sorry, Mom."

She shrugged. "It's a good thing they gave me a raise or I would be on the first flight back to Ireland."

And that's how she was able to afford this house. Flying back to Ireland didn't sound completely unappealing, but when Luke scratched at my ankle and practically whimpered, I knew I couldn't just leave him. We both provide much needed support for each other. I was just as much his as he is mine. "I don't think I'd want to go back, honestly."

My mom's eyes widened and so did Zeva's. "You like it here?"

"Love it."

She smiled, and I almost started crying at how happy she was. "You've changed, Liv, and I couldn't be more proud of you."

I beamed and she walked out of my room. I waited until I heard her reach the first floor, and then I let Luke get up. We stood awkwardly for a second before I looked at Zeva.

"I'll just, uh, give you guys a minute," she said, then left.

I looked at Luke and started laughing. "I'm so sorry about kind of pushing you off my bed.."
