"Are you okay?" Zeva asked me.

I shrugged and continued to unpack all of my books.

"You can't dwell on Niall forever, Liv," she sighed. "He lives in Ireland and you're on the opposite side of the world."

"I'm not dwelling on him."

"Yes you are."

I shook my head. "I don't care that he hasn't tried to contact me even though I've officially been here for twelve hours, and texted him to tell him I landed when I got here. Should I care?"

She just shook her head and grabbed a stack of my books to put them on my shelf.

"Zeva! Can you come down here for a minute?" my mom called.

"Yeah, I'll be right down!" She sighed and turned to look at me. "I'll be right back. Please don't break down again by the time I come back?"

"No promises," I joked. She laughed and then walked out of the room. A few minutes later, Luke walked into my room and picked up some of my books to help. "You don't have to do that."

"I want to. You have a really nice collection here."

"Thanks."

"Is there a certain way you want them?"

"Yeah, unbent," I laughed. He laughed too and started putting them on the shelves. "The only thing I'm picky about is the condition."

"Well, they're all perfect."

"Thanks," I beamed.

"You're welcome."

We finished that and then he sat down on my bed. I checked my phone for the millionth time since the day began, and sighed.

"Boyfriend problems?"

"He's not my boyfriend," I said quietly.

"That sounds like an interesting story. Do you want to talk about it?"

My eyes met his and I shook my head. "Let's just go shopping."

"Okay, but before we go, there's something I wanted to tell you."

"Okay?"

"I'm not interested in making you my girlfriend. At all. I mean, you seem nice and everything and you're sweet and beautiful, but I'd rather us just be friends. And I'm not saying this in hopes that this will make you like me more, I'm saying this because it's true."

I sighed with relief. "I'm glad you don't feel that way about me, because I don't think I could even be in a relationship with anyone but this guy I left behind."

"You love him?"

"No! Well, I don't know.. Stuff happened before I left, so maybe?"

"Stuff?" he smirked. "I think I get what you're saying."

I blushed and hid my face behind my hands. "Anyway," I said loudly over the sound of Luke's laugh. "Let's just be best friends."

He stood up and held out his hand. "Best friends."

I shook his hand and we walked downstairs. I was surprised to see that the rest of the boys were sitting in my living room. I cast a quick glance at Luke and he leaned down to my ear.

"I told them I was hanging out with you today and they really wanted to come."

"Oh.."

"Is that okay?"

Honestly, no, it wasn't. I wasn't really comfortable with them yet, and I knew I was going to seem incredibly weird to them. Hell, they probably already thought that. But they are Luke's friends, so I might as well start to get to used to them. It'll be like when I met Niall's friends. Shit. Don't think about him, it'll only make you depressed.
