Jos POV
4ish months ago...

Death.

It's inevitable.

He shakes his head before driving the knife into my abdomen and pulling it out.

The feeling of life slowly slipping away from you.

Until it doesn't.

I slowly open my eyes, squeezing them shut from the bright light that is shining into them. I'm alive, I'm actually alive.

"Josephine?" I hear my moms concerned voice say before I turn my head to her. I'm so fucking confused; why the fuck am I alive?

"Hi..." I manage to say and I hear someone enter the room.

"She's awake," a peppy nurse says and I rub my eyes a bit as they get the bed to lean upward. "So you were stabbed in the upper part of your abdomen, right under the center of your rib cage. It's a good thing too because any lower would've hurt the baby," she says and me and my mom start at her like she's insane.

"The baby?!" We both say at the same time and I try to think of the last time I had sex... the last time that this would've happened.

"Please baby," I beg and he picks me up and moves me up on the bed more.

"Are you sure baby?" He asks me and I nod quickly. I need him, and I need him right now.

Well fuck.

My mom puts her cold hands against my cheeks and I feel the coldness rake through me. She walks through the glass doors and talks to the doctor, but as she does this my dad slips in.

"You stabbed me," is all I can manage to get out and he smiles at me sinisterly. I look up at him and he tilts his head a bit and chuckles.

"I had to get him to believe you were dead. I had to get all of them to believe you were dead." He tells me and I shake my head a little bit.

"Why, why does he have to believe I'm dead?" I ask and he gets closer to me face.

"So he would back the fuck off," he tells me and I push him away.

"You wouldn't hurt me, not here," I say and he nods.

"You're right, it's too risky," he tells me and wraps his hand around my neck, "but I wouldn't hesitate any other time."

I stare at him and bite my lip a bit. "I wouldn't doubt that," I tell him and pulls his hand away before walking out.

Jo's POV
Present

I hate sitting on the side lines.

The boys are in the gun range and based on Felix's aim I think he's imaging the target is my head.

"Can't I get in on all the fun?" I say into the microphone that's on my headset. All of us are wearing noise canceling headphones so all the gun noises aren't as loud, and each headphone set has a microphone.

"We've been through this Jo, it's safer if you sat this one out," Morgan says and I roll my eyes.

"Yeah, this one, the next one, and every single fucking one for the next five months," I say and hear one of them sigh.
