After a minute of this weird stare down, Xan breaks the silence.

"What are you doing here Gale!" Xan seethes.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, his name is Gale Antonio Montenegro, my ex boyfriend, the one that I told you about a while ago. Well yeah that's him.

"I'm not here for you Xan and you know that, just here to take care of business that is all." Gale retorts back shifting his icy eyes towards me, instantly making Xan wrap his arm around my waist pulling me closer to him.

Gale chuckles at that sudden move.

"And I think you know what I mean by that." Gale continues making Xan stiffen beside me.

"Don't you even!" Xan raises his voice, making me flinch at his tone, his voice loud enough to catch the attention of the few people around us, who are now watching us.

But at times like this I can't help but be curious at what Gale meant.

I think back to what Xan just said now.

What does he mean by Xan knows what he means? Does Gale want something from Xan or did Xan do something and why did he react like that? I hope it's neither, can we just go.

I turn to face Xan.

"Let's go please." I plead to him, his grey irises holding so much anger and hatred for the two people standing a few meters away from us.

Really wanting to get away from Gale and Beradi as soon as possible before anything else happens.

Tugging onto Xan's jacket trying to get him to go with me but he won't budge.

Gale finds the perfect moment to speak again.

"Why would you two wanna leave so soon? aren't you happy to see me again baby?" Gale questions amusingly, still keeping his eyes on me.

Those eyes.

I don't answer that, I really don't know what to say so I just keep quiet.

Staring at me but I avert my eyes to the floor instead.

"Leave the girl alone. She is just pathetic and she can't even look at you in the eye, seriously and also as you see Xannie over here is trying to play hero." Beradi say's smuggling waving her manicured nails to emphasize the statement she just said.

Making Gale hum in agreement.

How am I suppose to answer that when it's true? I mean instead of standing my ground and defending myself and dignity. I'm instead here trying to get as far as possible from Gale.

Isn't that pathetic?

Maybe it is, maybe I am pathetic.

"I'm gonna repeat why are you really here Gale?" Xan repeats his anger rising with each word he says. Completely ignoring Beradi's statement.

"Credo di non poterti dire questo, you will have to find out" Gale say's. I think this is a game or something. It feels as if he's messing with Xan just to see his reaction. Knowing Xan it really wasn't helping.

"But anyway it was good seeing you two again even though I wish it was under different circumstances, hopefully we will be seeing each other more often now." Gale states calmly with that smile and I don't like the fact that this is not the last time we will be seeing each other.

As he starts to walk off with Baradi by his side, he stops and whispers something in Xan's ear.

Xan stiffens yet again at what Gale must have told him and Gale walks off but not before turning to face me and winks, mouthing I'm back.

A sense of déjà vu creeps and it's not the good kind.

"Zona let's go." Xan states gravely and starts pulling me along with him, it feels more like dragging if you ask me as I try to keep up with him.

Wasn't I the one that told him let's go and he didn't listen. Now I'm here being dragged by a furious Xan as if I did something wrong.

As we walked up to Xan's Audi, from the corner of my eye I caught Gale on the phone, staring at us from the side of his car. I looked away quickly.

Don't think or look at him, just focus on getting out of here Zona.

As we climb into Xan's car and he immediately drives off pushing me back into the seat even before I could put my seat belt on. As we drive back home in the deadly silent car the only noise is of the engine. Xan clutches and unclutches his hands on the steering wheel. He's angry.

No, he is furious.

So I just remain quiet as usual. I don't wanna make him angrier than he already is.

But I can't help but wonder, why is he angry and what was their conversation about.

I don't know whether this is a good time or not to ask Xan what their conversation was about but at the same time I can't help but think about Gale.

Why is he back?

What is he doing here?

Many questions with no answers.

I find myself drifting off again but not before I hear a cell phone ringing and Xan answering it.

"La sua schie–" was the last thing I heard before completely drifting off to nothingness.
