Humming a small tune, I was making my way down town. I already had gotten the groceries for dinner and was now on my way to the electronics store. I don't understand why we couldn't just use the camera on Musume's phone since we're going to anonymously send a message to her father anyways, but this is how it's done in the game so I'm not going to question it.
It's not like I need a really good camera, I just need one to film Musume. Still, I should at least get one that's good enough. The problem is, I don't know anything about cameras. I was in the middle of deciding between my options when I felt a pair of eyes on me.
When I looked around, I saw someone immediately hide behind a rack. Usually I would ignore them, but since it was someone I knew... I walked over to where the person was hiding and popped into their line of sight. "Hi there stalker!"
"Ah!"
"What are you up to today Oko?" I asked, smiling at him. Oko stood there, shaking in front of me.
"I-I wasn't stalking you..." I continued to smile at him wordlessly, and it didn't take him long to continue. "I-I just happened to see you... I was doing some shopping..."
I tilt my head. "Oh? What are you looking for?"
"I'm looking for a new camera to take pictures of ghosts..." He holds up a packaged camera to show me.
I took a moment to look at it. "I see. I'm looking for one as well, but for filming only. I don't want to spend too much money on a camera I'm not sure I'll use often."
He looked at me curiously. "You're not..?"
I shook my head. "I just thought I should try out a new hobby, film making. I'm not sure if I'll continue it though, so I don't want to spend too much money on an expensive camera."
"If you're looking for a decent starter camera..." He walks past me and wanders off to a shelf of cameras. I looked at him confused, but followed after him. After a bit of looking around, he grabbed one and handed it to me. "Here... I have this one at home and it works pretty well... It doesn't cost much either..."
I took a look at the price. It was as he said, it didn't cost much and if he said it worked well, I'll take his word for it. "This will do." I smile up at him. "Thanks a lot Oko, I was worried I was going to be stuck here for a while looking for one."
He flushes. "I-It's nothing..."
"Do you know a lot about cameras?"
"I wouldn't say that, but I do use them a bunch when researching the supernatural and paranormal..." He paused before continuing. "My parents also used to try to catch them on film or in photos..."
Now I was curious. "They do paranormal investigating?"
"No... They used to..." He begins explaining. "My parents own a spiritual consultation business... They offer services like exorcisms, seances, fortune telling, and spiritual advice."
I took a second to process this information. "Hmm... Sounds cool! I guess that's where you got your interest for the occult from huh?"
He was momentarily stunned. "You don't find it strange..?"
"Find what strange?"
"Me being into stuff like this... Everyone is either creeped or weirded out by me and the other club members for liking the occult..." He looks down. I stared at him for a minute, which he got slightly uncomfortable by. "(Y/N)..?"
"So? What your interested in isn't any of my business." I crossed my arms. "It's not like you're doing any harm. Besides, it's not like you're going to stop if I had a problem with it right?"
