He made me manipulative. He made me forget.

I knew I had a bad feeling about Megamo. I knew he felt familiar, and he's most definitely the reason why I'm having this blasted dream again! Holding my face, and telling me not cry. Telling me it was natural to be scared. Does he remember? Was he doing all that to me on purpose?

If so, then why bother? Does he even remember?

My memories became clearer and clearer, and so did the faces.

(...)

When we got to the door, he stopped himself. He decided to place an ear to the door. I watched him curiously, waiting for what we should do next only for him to shake his head. "They're talking outside the room. We shouldn't go through here unless we want to get caught." He whispered.

"Then what do we do..?" I whispered back, worried.

His gaze is directed towards one of the windows, and he dragged me along to it. He looked out. "We're on the second floor. We can't simply jump out, unless we really wanted to get hurt."

There was a tree right beside the window. I took a moment to watch it's swaying branches. I point at it. "Um, do you think we can use the tree to climb down?"

He began to observe the tree as well and sighed. "My family wouldn't like me climbing trees, but this is an emergency." He lets go of my hand before opening the window slowly and carefully, so he doesn't accidently alert the people guarding the room. Once the window was opened, he reached out for the nearest sturdy branch. Once he settled on it, he used one hand to grab onto the branch above him so he doesn't fall off, and uses the other hand to reach out for me.

I know using the tree to get down and escape from here was my idea, but I was still scared at the thought of falling. I looked at his hand hesitantly. He looked at me with reassurance. "Don't be afraid, I've got you. I promise, I won't let you fall." I took a nervous gulp before tightly grabbing onto it and followed him out the window. We both made our descent down the tree with great care. While on our way down, we kept an ear out for any noises. When we both reached the bottom, he quickly grabbed a hold of my hand and ran. "Come on!" He whisper-yelled.

We were now running in the yard behind the building. Around the yard were short stone walls that I assumed was once used as a fence. Can't say that anymore now that most of it was destroyed, and only had a few pieces of it that remained standing. We heard angry shouting in the distance.

I felt a painful pull on my arm. Before I could let out a yelp of pain, the boy placed his hand firmly over my mouth. We were hiding behind what was left of the stone wall. We heard footsteps come closer. From the sound of it, it was only a single pair, and it stopped near where we were hiding. We waited with nervous breaths and fortunately, the person went away, muttering curses as he left. Shouting that he doesn't see us.

I let out a choked sob, but still made sure to be as quiet as possible. "I-I'm so scared... What i-if they find us..?"

He sighed, probably tired of my constant blubbering. He fidgeted for a moment before awkwardly pulling me into a hug. I could tell that it was something that he wasn't used to. Then again... Neither was I... "Don't worry, we're almost out of here. Now we just need to run far away from here." He looks over the stone wall. "The coast is clear. Let's go!"

He whispered-yelled again before running. I quickly stood up and ran after him. So far, there weren't any signs of the bad guys coming after us and we managed to reach a road. "What do we do now? Where do we go??"

"Um..." He looked down both sides of the road hopefully. By the looks of it, it didn't look like he was doing so to look both ways before walking. I didn't see any driving cars going by, not even on our way to the road. "I was hoping for someone to drive by and help us."
