That dream I had. I would have never thought that it would ever come back to haunt me. Well... Less 'haunt' me, and more 'annoy' me.

I forced myself to forget that memory from so long ago, to block it out from my memory. It worked somewhat. I may not have forgotten completely, but the events of it seemed like a big blur to me. Why did I want to forget so badly?

(Many Years Ago)

"You don't have to. I'll do it. You'll just hurt your wrists."

He started fiddling with the ropes that were tied around my wrists. While I watched, I noticed his own wrists were lefts with marks from the ropes. It didn't take a genius to figure out that they were from when he tried to free himself. They looked like they hurt, yet I didn't hear a single complaint from him.

"Are... Are you okay?" I whispered weakly. He takes a moment to look up at me curiously. "Your wrists..."

"Oh." He looks at them before going back to work on untying me. "I'll be fine, but shouldn't I be asking you? You were crying."

"I'm scared."

"That's natural."

"But you aren't?"

He sighs. "It's no surprise that something like this happened to me. it's nearly happened before."

I looked at him in horror. "It's happened before?"

"For ransom. Desperate and greedy people like those guys that kidnapped us would kidnap people for money, and hold them ransom." I didn't realize it back then, but it occurred to me now that this kid was way more mature for his age "There. Sorry that it took me a while."

I rubbed my wrists while glancing around the room the kidnappers placed us in. I nervously turned back to him. "Um, what do we do now?"

He thought about it for a while. "Well, first we should..." His voice trails off when he looked down, and I did the same to see what he was looking at. When I did, I was quick to realize that he was looking at my ankle. "Does it hurt?"

'That was a stupid question.' It's both bruised and scraped, of course it hurts! I managed to hurt it while I was trying to fight off the kidnappers.

I didn't say anything, but I guess he can tell what I'm thinking when he saw the look on my face. He shook his head and moved on, digging his hand into one of the pockets of his pants. "Go sit down."

"Where?"

He rolled his eyes. "The floor. Do you see anywhere else to sit?" I pout but did as he asked. He pulls out a handkerchief and crouched near my ankle, and bandaged it. I don't know why, but for some reason this action felt familiar to me. Not to my child self, but to my current self. Has this happened before?

The handkerchief looked fancy, so I assumed it was expensive. There was also what he said about kidnappings and ransom, which made me realize that he was most definitely a rich kid of sorts. How rich? I had no clue.

I was so lost in thought that I was startled when he suddenly pulled me up. "Come on, we need to get out of here. We need a plan."

I shook in nervousness. "But how are we going to do that? What if they catch us?" I was so scared that I was about to start crying again. However, I didn't, not when the two hands that were placed on my cheeks were brought to my attention. "U-Um..."

He squishes my cheeks together. "Don't cry, we have to at least try to get out of here. I promise, nothing bad will happen. Got it?"

I slowly nodded my head. He smiles in satisfaction at my silent answer. He lets go but grabs a hold of my hand and drags me towards the only door in the room. I remember feeling calmed by the warmth of this boy's hand and how tightly I clung to it. I felt both scared and safe.

Before we left the room, I once again felt myself being pulled out of slumber.

(...)

Only this time instead of being woken up by an alarm, it was Ayato. I was confused for a moment, but then I remembered that I took a nap at his place after hanging out with Taeko and the others.

"Hey, how much longer to you plan to sleep? Dad said dinner will be ready soon." Ayato spoke, giving me a blank stare. We stared at each other for a moment before I decided to slap his arm. He scowled at me. "And what the heck was that for?"

"You should have woken me up sooner, I had a bad dream and now I'm in a bad mood." After all, it involved a memory I didn't want to remember. Ugh, but the author is probably going to make me remember anyway. Why else would this chapter exist?

He looked more annoyed. "Hah? Weren't you the one who wanted to nap here? How is this my fault?" I ignored him, and instead followed the smell of good food. My good mood already returned. He sighs before following after me. "Seriously?"

 "Seriously?"
