Diary Entry #34

My long, white dress floated in the wind as it pushed through the trees. I couldn't help but feel tears prick at my eyes as I stared in front of me.

Hundreds upon hundreds of chairs were set out and filled. The people in them were all talking, laughing, or taking in the beautiful sights. I, on the other hand, was flipping out.

I knew my make-up was nice and my hair was perfect and I'm sure I looked stunning but I felt so... sad.

"Honey, what's the matter?" My mom cooed as she added a finishing touch to my bouquet.

"I'm not sure I am ready to do this," I sobbed and flung myself on my bed. Cries racked through my body as I pressed myself against my mom's comforting body.

"Oh honey, it's going to be okay. Your wedding day will be the happiest day of your life. You just need to get past the shock of the commitment and I promise you that it will be the most amazing thing you have ever felt," She said soothingly as she stroked my hair. I almost snorted at the ironical statement. Becoming a Vampire was the most amazing thing I had ever felt, not getting married. I could guaranteed her that.

It had been two months later since Danny Changed me back into a human. I had woken up afraid and disoriented a day later. I could barely remember what had happened in the last three years thanks to my weak memory but I never could forget Luke.

Danny, on the other hand, had stayed exactly the same. He wasn't a Vampire anymore and he couldn't read my thoughts, but that's about all that changed. He was still incredibly fast, strong, and he hadn't had a hint of growing older yet.

"Why do you get all the perks of being a Vampire?" I whined one day as he had picked me up against my will and brought me to a park.

"It's because I never really had a chance to be a human. I was Turned before I could adapt to being a human so my body knows no difference," He stated matter-of-factually. I remember decking him for that and we both ended up spending the whole day at the park just talking about how weird it was that we were both humans again.

"There you go honey, you look amazing," My mom said, pulling me out of my thoughts. I shook my head, careful not to destroy my hair, and looked in the mirror.

I gasped as I took in my appearance, shocked at how good I looked.

My hair was piled up on top of my head in an intricate knot of braids and spirals while a few locks cascaded down. My make-up was minimal; mascara, natural eyeshadow, and some lip-gloss. My excitement and nervousness made up for the blush. Finally, my dress clung to every curve, its' lace and mermaid style fabric flowing down my body.

"Wow," Was all I could say as I took in my appearance. I did look good but it was my expression that made me gasp.

I looked... happy. I looked like there was nothing else in the world that could complete me and I knew that was true.

All my life I had been searching and today I found him.

Danny.

"Sweetie, you ready to go?" My dads gruff voice called through the soft curtain that separated me from the crowd. I gulped just as the music started playing. I took a step forward and admired my diamond- encrusted shoes before I brushed aside the curtain.

My dad looked speechless as he took in my clothes, make-up, hair, and most importantly, my smile.

"Oh Sweetie, you look so happy. So radiant," He whispered as he took my hand. I smiled and instantly tears sprang up.

Then we walked down the aisle.

As I walked, arm-in-arm with my dad, I kept my eyes forward. I knew that everybody would be staring at me but I couldn't return their gaze. I was too busy trying not to cry.
