DIARY ENTRY #15

I snuggled into my pillow, thinking of Danny and tomorrow. I didn't even want the throne, so how much would I give up to win? I know Danny really wanted it, so when the time came I would try my best. I would. Right?

I tried to sleep but nothing was working. Maybe I was too riled up. Too worried?

I slowly crept out of my bed and worked open the window. After some pressure the window opened up enough to so I could climb out. I slid down the roof and jumped off with ease. After years of sneaking out of my house, I was a pro.

"Okay, where to go?" I asked myself, well aware I had no idea where everything was. I definitely didn't want to wake Danny to show me either.

I shrugged and set out for the lake I saw this morning. I hiked up the trail and couldn't help but wonder why I didn't bring my cellphone. I could totally get kidnapped or something in here. Sure I was living in a family of Vampires, but they couldn't protect me now. Man, this was a stupid idea.

But my anxieties were relieved when I saw the glimmer of the lake. I ran the rest of the way, admiring the stars that reflected in the pool of water. I sat at the edge and gently dipped my feet in. I let my mind wander and didn't even notice the shadow coming up behind me.

"Hi Tia," I jumped and ended up falling into the lake. I sputtered as the cold water pulled all around me.

"Ugh, just try to grab her Sam." I heard a voice command. Willow. My instincts kicked in hearing her voice and I doggy- paddled out farther.

"She's too far!"

"Then go get her!" The couple bickered as I continued to paddle out farther. I shivered as something brushed past my leg and cold water rushed up my nose.

"Whatever, let's just leave her for now. The Vamanes will get her," Sam snickered and together the couple left. I stopped in shock and felt another thing brush my leg. I screamed and paddled away from it. I didn't realize it, but by now I was in the middle of the lake. I didn't have any idea what the heck were Vamanes but I figured they weren't anything good.

I felt something ripple ahead of me and that's when I screamed. I just kept screaming, praying someone, anyone, could hear me.

"Danny!" I screeched as the water all around me started to splash and flicker. I tried to paddle back but another ripple kept me in the same place.

I was ready to scream again when all the sudden a head emerged from the water. I choked on the water as the dead eyes stared at me, dripping blood and water. Then the heads started to surface all around me, boxing me in.

"No!" I screamed as they came closer, their grotesque faces scrunched up in hunger and excitement.

Then they all disappeared. I was left in the middle of the lake alone, with the creepy zombie things after me.

I sucked in a breath and swam as fast as I could to the other side. I was about fifteen feet away when I felt a cold, dead hand grasp my foot.

I instantly went under as the Vamane pulled. I choked on water and desperately tried to kick at it. I felt something solid connect with my toe and felt the hand disappear. I swallowed my fear and kept swimming. Then I heard it.

"Tia! Where are you?" Danny called. I spotted him at the other side of the lake and was just about to answer when hands grabbed my feet and pulled me under. I felt the water crash into me as I swallowed more of it. I shut my eyes, aware that surrounding me where the Vamanes, trying to drown me.

I kicked and thrashed, just trying to get back up for air. I pulled myself up to the surface and screamed as loud as I could. But they pulled me under again before I could breath.

With no oxygen to give me energy, I feebly tried to get away from them but I was starting to feel sleepy. I felt their hands grab my arms as they pulled me deeper. I stopped trying and realized as water rushed in my mouth I was drowning. The thought barely startled me as more water crowded in.

I opened my eyes one last time and noticed the blood around me. I barely understood that the Vamane were eating me before I fell asleep.

I felt like I was swimming in a black pond. I was trying to reach Danny but the shore just kept getting farther away.

"No!" I screamed as I felt something grab me and pull me under. Water flooded into my mouth as I choked and was pulled under the water.

All the sudden I felt something heavy on my chest. I coughed up water and felt soft lips on my mouth.

I opened my eyes and was staring into Danny's eyes. He was kissing me with his mouth open and as soon as I realized that I pushed him off me and slapped him as hard as I could.

"Jerk!" I mumbled, aware that people were laughing. I really wasn't comfortable with the whole 'making out' thing, so I kinda wasn't please Danny was doing that.

"Hey! I was doing CPR!" Danny exclaimed. I muttered an apology and finally looked around. All around people were staring at me with intense eyes and that was my first clue that something was going on.

"Danny, what's happening?" I asked quietly as he pulled me into his lap. He refused to meet my glare and instead mumbled something about drowning.

"Wait, what?" I repeated again, when nobody would answer. All the sudden a wave of drowsiness over came me and I struggled to stay awake.

"Danny, will you just tell me what is going on? I'm feeling really tired and if I don't find out what's happening in the next minute I will be really mad!" I seethed. Danny instantly stiffened but reluctantly answered me.

"Tia, when I saw you being drowned by the Vamanes-"

"Wait what are those things?" I interrupted. Danny shot a glare at me and continued.

"They are Vampires that tried to change into humans but their body rejected the change. So since they were already dead, they now just live off of human blood and flesh." Danny continued before I could interrupt again this time.

"Anyways, when I saw you drowning I jumped in after you. I managed to get the Vamanes off of you but you had already swallowed too much water. So I dragged you out and realized that the only way to keep you alive was to feed you my blood. So I-"

"Wait, YOU FED ME YOUR BLOOD?" I screeched and pulled myself out of his lap. I jumped up but instantly crumpled as the energy I had a few minutes ago was lacking. I landed in Danny's arms as he caught me and slowly shut my eyes. I could hear him calling me back to him but all I wanted to do was sleep. Then I felt something cold trickle down my throat.

Immediately I opened my eyes, more energy flooding my body. I stared at Danny, aware that he had just made me drink more of his blood. He was staring back at me with such concern I felt my heart hurt.

"I'm sorry," I whispered. He nodded and stoked my cheek as he continued to talk.

"You were dying Tia. I had to feed you my blood so you could at least wake up so I could talk to you. I need to ask you something," He looked at me and I nodded for him to continue.

"The only way for you to live is if I Turn you. If you stay a human, you'll die," Danny whispered. I gaped at him in shock. But I didn't want to become a Vampire! I wanted to stay human and live a normal life.

"But Danny..." I trialed off and looked into his eyes, searching for his answer. But all I could find was fear and love. Fear for my choice but unconditional love for me no matter what. With all the energy I had left I propped myself up and slowly kissed his lips, letting his warmth and softness overcome me.

Just as I pulled away I leaned in and whispered in his ear,

"Turn me,"
