DIARY ENTRY #6

"What?" I shrieked, not even believing my eyes. I had a brother???

"You are lying!" Liam growled and lunged at Danny. He throttled Danny as he screeched bloody murder. I just sat there, not understanding. But that couldn't be true. Because that would mean that I might also be adopted...

Suddenly I whipped out my phone and dialled my mom's phone number. I knew any minute now I would be overcome by nurses, shouting at me to turn off my phone because it could interfere with the equipment. But I couldn't deal with that right now. I needed to know if my whole life was a lie.

It rang and rang and rang. I was biting, devouring my lip in anxiety. Please mom, pick up. Pick up, pick up...

"Hi, it's Carry!" My moms' chirpy voice responded. I breathed of despair and was about to shut my phone, thinking it was her voice mail, when I heard my mom repeat herself.

"Mom!" I cried in happiness. I saw Liam and Danny both pause momentarily to register the joyfulness in my voice. They both took in my phone and my happy shout, and then resumed fighting.

"Mom! How are you?" I shrieked, taking in her soft breathing.

"Honey, I'm fine! How are you? Hitting those books hard, I hear!" My mom replied cheerfully. I smiled through the tears that were pouring down my face.

"Yup! In fact, I have a question, and I need you to answer it seriously and truthfully," I said. I heard the silence in the phone and understood right then and there that Danny wasn't lying.

"Mom, Am I adopted?" I whispered into the phone. I heard the small gasp then more silence. Then a sob. Then another.

"Honey, no your not! How could you ever think that?" My mom shrieked, laughing her head off through my cell. I face-palmed myself, realizing the sobs were the giggles. Really mom?

"Because somebody tested this guy for a DNA match and it's a positive. Do I have a brother?" I murmured, starting to think Danny was a dirty liar. If he was, I was so killing him.

"We wanted to tell you; We really did!" I heard my mom whispered as I heard a real sob escape her. I choked on air and spent the minute coughing. I could hear the boys (One of them my brother!) shouting at me but I couldn't stop. All my life I believed I was an only child and all my life my parents where lying to me.

"Why?" I coughed out as more tears ran down my face. Lies, all around me. All the time.

"Oh honey; please understand! We didn't tell you before because we didn't want you to think that we didn't love him. It's just that when we had him we couldn't handle having a child so we had to give him away. We waited a few years then tried to find where he was so we could take him back but he was gone. He disappeared from all the records the nurses had. We couldn't find him but we wanted a child so much. So we had you. We just didn't want you to grow up thinking we would ever leave you," My mom sobbed into the phone. I just sat there, my jaw hanging in shock. All these years I had a brother and nobody wanted to tell me.

"I got to go mom," I mumbled into the phone as I shut it off. I could briefly hear my mom begging me not to hang up but I needed sometime to think.

"WHAT IS GOING ON IN HERE?"A nurse screamed as she ran inside the room. Danny and Liam were still fighting it out and by now blood was strewn everywhere. I could see that Danny had probably broken Liam's nose and from the way one of Danny's arm was hanging, Liam probably broke it.

Instantly the nurse flew into action, trying to tear apart the nurse. Liam growled as he was dragged off Danny and was shoved against the wall.

"What is wrong with you guys? Can't you see we have a patient here?" The nurse said. At the mention of my name, both guys looked at me sympathetically. I just sobbed some more, not even sure what was going on. "Now you guys better buck up and be civil towards each other or get out. We don't want you upsetting the patient again,"
