DIARY ENTRY #22
LUKE'S P.O.V.
I watched her as we drove down the road. I couldn't help but feel my heart torn in half as I saw her eyes flash with pain. No doubt she was thinking about Danny.
My hands clenched at the thought of him. That jerk rejected his mate and left her broken. No girl should ever have to feel that pain, that was for sure.
"Hey, how are you doing?" I saw her eyes cloud over and realized she was going into another flashback. Poor thing. I loved her so much it made my heart ache to see her in so much pain but I held my tongue. This was something Tia needed to do by herself and if that meant she would get over Danny soon enough, so be it.
Suddenly a vibrating sound rang out. I didn't even have to look at the dashboard to know my cellphone was getting a call; no doubt from the blocked number. I grind-ed my teeth and prayed Tia hadn't heard; luckily she hadn't.
"Hey babe, are you okay?" I asked, a bit more worried. She looked away and a section of her golden brown hair fell in her face. I resisted the urge to swear at Danny for hurting her this bad and instead realized that she was crying.
"Hey baby it's okay, you don't have to hide your tears from me," I whispered and brushed them away. I saw her shiver delicately and smiled at her. Oh how I loved her.
Then Tia caught sight of where we were going and she smiled, her whole face glowing with happiness.
"C'mon," She cried and raced out of the car. I grinned and was just about to get out when my cellphone rang again.
"Um, I gotta take this," I stammered out and reached for my phone. She just smiled at me and ran down to the water. I couldn't help but feel a brief moment of guilt that she trusted me so completely, but that passed and I pressed TALK on my phone.
"What?" I asked.
"Is that any way to talk to your partner?" His cold voice slid over me and I felt my spine prickle in fear.
"We are not partners. Now why did you call me?" I retorted and resisted the urge to end the conversation. But no matter how much of a jerk this guy was, I needed his information.
"I just wanted to let you know that Danny is on the move. Any idea where he is?" The voice said and I felt my heart fill with dread.
"Why would I tell you?"
"Well, unless you want your precious Tia dead, I suggest I hear where he is now," The man snarled and I bit back a sharp retort. Tia's life was at stake her; it was no time for bickering.
"All I heard was he was taking a break from his Kingly Duties. I have no idea where he is but for now the King and Queen are filling in," I repeated, knowing full well the danger my words had.
"Ahh, so the castle is weak. Very well, thank you Luke," The voice said and hung up. I sighed and shoved my phone in my pocket. I got out of the car and shivered. What had I done?
I shook my head to clear my thoughts and jogged towards the water. I stared at the crystal clearness of it and couldn't help but smile. Too bad I was too distracted to notice the real problem.
It was then that I heard a squeal. I turned my head towards Tia and almost swore in anger. There she was pressed up against a complete stranger, kissing him.
Anger clouded over my eyes and I felt furious. Who the heck was she kissing?! Oh she better have a good reason for this or I will rip the guys' throat out! Actually, even if she did have a good reason I would still rip his throat out!
