"Anyone who's here to try out for seeker better go back up to the castle because an 11-year-old boy road a broom for the first time today, and McGonagall gave him the seeker position before asking me or letting me see him play. Sorry guys," Oliver says in front of all of the quidditch tryout people.

The people who were going to try out for seekers groaned with their ughs and Aww's as they walked away with disappointment,. Everyone else was shocked, confused, or laughed at what Oliver said.  You stood there with a little bit of all those emotions. You thought Oliver's typical sarcasm was funny, but you were shocked and confused as to how a first year could have possibly been good enough to make the team without even trying out.

"As for the rest of you, let's get to work! I want chasers in one group over here to the left and Beaters over here to the right. I need two lines where we will do warm-ups that are like real game scenarios," Oliver says, explaining.

You all did a bunch of typical warm-ups and drills like we do every year. The teams usually stay the same, except there are a few people who decided to quit or graduate or something, but either way, tryouts are mandatory, according to Dumbledore, so that each year, people can have an opportunity to join if they want. This year, we have a few new people who are trying out. We don't need anyone but a seeker, which I guess we already have. You are always nervous that you're going to not make the team even though you have been practicing quidditch since you were like 5, you know you're a really good player but you don't know you're just waiting for the moment when you're replaced.

After Quidditch Practice/tryouts were over, you all flew down to the ground and started walking back to the castle to get ready for dinner.

"Do you know anything about the new seeker?" you asked Oliver walking beside him.

"Not much except that he is a first-year Gryffindor and that he is Harry Potter, the boy who lived also the son of James Potter, who was an amazing seeker. I guess I can't be too surprised that he is a natural seeker," Oliver explains.

"Harry Potter?! wow, we got a legend on our team," you say, intrigued

He chuckled.

"Yeah, something like that," He says

There was silence between us. It wasn't awkward; you were trying so hard not to ask the same question every year. He looked over at you and saw the face you were making, knowing the question you were trying not to ask. With a dramatic roll of his eyes, he released a soft sigh that lingered in the air, and a warm smile broke across his lips, lightening the moment.

"No, y/n, you're not off the team, so stop worrying about it," he says, laughing a little.he says with an exaggerated laugh, shaking his head as if you've lost your mind. You squint at him, playing along with a dramatic flair.

"Wha—What do you even mean? I wasn't going to ask," you say, trying to play it off.

"We go through this every year, and I could tell by your facial expression that you looked like you just witnessed a murder but didn't know if you should tell anyone," He says, teasing you.

"Okay, first of all, if I just witnessed a murder, why the hell would I be thinking about if I should tell someone? obviously, I would. Second of all...Yeah, I know we go through this every single year, but this year was different. I was thinking about something else," you say, a playful smile tugging at your lips as you tease him lightly.

He lets out a soft laugh.

"Alright, I can see it written all over your face—it's an odd mix of guilt and anxiety. You look like someone who might just be capable of murder. If you weren't intending to ask me anything, then what exactly are you keeping to yourself?" he remarks, his tone laced with teasing sarcasm.

"Only my love for you. I just was so nervous in your presence that I got so nervous and didn't know if I could hold it in any longer. My love for you must be confessed. I couldn't bear to keep it a secret any longer," You say sarcastically

He rolls his eyes as you both laugh.

"Oh y/n your love for me was never a secret and it's okay I completely understand I tend to have that effect on women," he says going long with your joke.

"Oh I'm sure you do explains why I never see girls around you other than me," I say back his smile just keeps getting bigger.

"That's cause you probably scare them off because you're so obsessed with me," He says

"Oh, please. I'm the one who tries to pay girls to talk to you, but none do, so I have to do my charity work and talk to you myself," you reply.

"Right, right, we will just pretend like it's not because you're obsessed with me," he says, laughing.

"If anything, you're the one obsessed with me I mean, look at all this," You say again sarcastically

He then does this side-eye look, his eyes sweeping over you from head to toe. A playful smirk spread across his face, his lips parted slightly as if he were about to say something, adding an air of mischief to the moment. That shit was hot asf you got all hot and smiled.

"Oh? You didn't deny it," you respond with a teasing smile, enjoying the playful tension in the air. "I see it's okay; I completely understand. I tend to have that effect on men," you add, your tone dripping with mockery. He chuckles, his laughter echoing in the room, a sound that's both light-hearted and unexpected.

"You're in over your head," he says, shaking his head with amusement, his eyes sparkling with mischief.

"Definitely not," you assert confidently, holding his gaze. "It's you." The words hang between you, the challenge clear.

"There's never any winning with you," He says, shaking his head and laughing

"Usually not,"  you reply simply

He grins broadly, a warm chuckle escaping his lips, and you can't help but look up at him with wide, adoring eyes, reminiscent of a cute puppy. You beam back at him, your giggles filling the air with a playful energy. Suddenly, you notice his smile begins to wane; an intensity in his gaze shifts as he stares at you, almost as if he's lost in thought.

He comes to a gentle stop, and with a tender touch, he places his hand against your cheek, his thumb brushing softly against your skin. Then, in a spontaneous moment of bravery, he leans in and kisses you—quick yet meaningful, a perfect blend of sweetness that lingers in the air. As he draws back, you can see the warmth of embarrassment creeping across his cheeks, his eyes darting away for a moment, as if he's questioning whether he crossed an unspoken line."I-I'm so sorry I didn't-" He stutters.

"It's okay," you reply, laughing at his reaction.

"I told you you were the one who was obsessed with me," You say, teasing him.

He shook his head and laughed, his cheeks still bright red.

"Well, you had plenty of time to pull away from the kiss but didn't, so it looks like you're obsessed, too, " he says back.

"Mmm, Sure, something like that," you say. You both start laughing.

You take his hand and lock your fingers with his. You figured he would have been too shy to grab your hand, so you just did it for him.
