You found yourself in the vibrant, bustling halls of Gryffindor, a place that felt like home. Despite your natural shyness, you had a way of blossoming in the warmth of the friendly environment around you. In the safety of Hogwarts, your humor shined through, revealing a side of you that was funny and captivating. Your social circle had expanded, transforming you into a bit of a social butterfly, though a hint of shyness still lingered.
One evening during dinner, as the Great Hall buzzed with laughter and chatter, your friend beside you leaned in, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "Hey, Y/N, Oliver Wood keeps glancing your way," she whispered excitedly, trying to keep her voice down while sporting a playful grin.
A soft laugh escaped your lips, your brow furrowing in confusion. "What?" you asked, your smile widening as you tried to comprehend her words.
"No, really! Look over there," she urged, her finger discreetly pointing toward Oliver without his notice. Just as she did, her hand dropped quickly, and Oliver's gaze met yours. For a fleeting moment, time seemed to stand still. The laughter and noise around you faded as you locked eyes with him. It was an awkward yet delightful moment; he offered you a shy smile before shyly looking away.
"SEE!" your friend exclaimed, her excitement bubbling over. You quickly cut her off, unable to suppress a giggle.
"SHH!" you whispered, laughter escaping as she reveled in the moment, her enthusiasm spilling into the air around you, too loud for the cozy dinner setting.
"See," She says more quietly still excited.
"Yes Y/f/n I saw" You say laughing.
"I think he likes you," She says, jumping to conclusions
"Y/f/n, don't be ridiculous. He just looked at me," You say, brushing off her strange theories. she got to be crazy.
"Fred, George, surely you both can agree with me here. You obviously saw that, right?" she looks at the twins for back up.
"Oh yeah," Fred says
"Are ya kidding me? Oliver totally fancy's Y/n," George continues
"George! you weren't supposed to say nothing, you and that big mouth of yours," Fred says, hitting George.
"Oliver, he is too chicken to ever do anything about his crush on y/n, so as his friend, I'm helping him out," George replies.
"See y/n you need to talk to him!" Your friend says being pushy. Typical.
"Y/f/n, you know I'm way too shy to do that," You say, looking at her. anxiety is starting to fill throughout your body, knowing she will not let this go.
"Oh, not to worry. You can leave it to us," Fred says, looking at George with a mischievous smile.
"Oh no, what are you gonna do?" You ask worriedly.
"Don't worry, thank us now or later," George says
Fred gives a subtle nod to George, prompting him to take action. The boys stand up from their seats and stroll down the length of the table, their footsteps barely making a sound on the floor. When they reach Oliver, they gently tap him on the shoulder. As Oliver turns to face them, the twins lower their heads, leaning in closer, their voices turning into hushed whispers filled with excitement. Their faces are lit up with broad, goofy grins that almost seem contagious, while a sly smirk creeps across Oliver's face in response.
As their attention shifts toward you, an uncomfortable flush creeps up your neck. The trio's gazes feel heavy, and despite your best efforts to look away, you find yourself stealing glances at them from the corner of your eye, each moment amplifying the tension in the air.
