You wrote down notes in transfiguration class when you felt like you were being watched. You looked over to your right, looking over at the desk next to you, when you saw Oliver Wood staring at you. You couldn't help but let out a small smile at the way he looked.
"Is something wrong, Wood?" you murmur, your voice dripping with sarcasm as you lean slightly closer, trying to catch a glimpse of his expression.
"With you? Far from it," he replies, a dreamy look still lingering in his eyes as he takes in your presence.
You let out an exaggerated sigh, rolling your eyes as you shift your focus back to your notes, scribbling down important details. Yet, after ten long minutes, you can still sense his gaze fixed on you, an unyielding warmth that draws your attention away from the words on the page. Finally, unable to ignore it, you set your quill down with a soft thud, rolling your eyes yet again as you turn to face him, curiosity piqued.
"Wood, quit staring at me! Your gaze feels like it's burning right through me," you say playfully, a teasing smile on your lips.
"Well, my heart is burning for you," he replies with a grin, his eyes sparkling with mischief.
You roll your eyes, unable to suppress the smile that breaks across your face.
"That was utterly pathetic," you respond, laughing bubbling up as you shake your head. The lighthearted banter adds warmth to the moment.
As the final bell rang, signaling the end of class, you gathered your belongings and stood up. Oliver immediately positioned himself beside you, eager to leave together.
"Would it help if you sat next to me in our next class?" you asked, glancing up at him with a hint of curiosity in your eyes.
His face lit up with a bright smile, revealing his enthusiasm. "If that means getting to be closer to you, then absolutely," he replied, his eyes sparkling with excitement.
You paused for a moment, a playful smile tugging at your lips as you continued, "Only on one condition..."
"What's that, love?" he inquires, his eyebrows arching with curiosity as he leans in slightly, eager to catch a glimpse of what has captured his attention.
"You can't stare wholes into my head the whole class," you say, looking up at him with a teasing smile.
"I can't make you any promises but for you, I will try," He says
"Also keep your drooling to a minium I don't need to be swimming in your puddles" You say teasing him more.
He let out a lighthearted laugh, a playful sparkle in his eyes, as he responded, "I don't drool, Y/N. Now you're just being dramatic." You chuckled in return, a teasing grin on his face, and said, "I don't know about that. Your robes feel a little damp." With a mischievous smile, you reached out to touch his robes, pretending to wonder if they were actually wet, relishing in the moment and the banter between you.
"If I didn't know any better, I would say that was an excuse for you to touch me," he says, giving you a mischievous smile, his eyebrows raised.
"Oh, don't fool yourself," You add.

Just a little bit before dinner, you were walking around the castle, not really knowing what else to do. You ended up walking out to the courtyard, where you saw how pretty the moon looked. you decided to sit on one of the stone arches as you admired the moon and the stars around it. While admiring the sky, you started to remember Oliver admiring you in class, and every other time, he always looked at you, examining every feature with amazement. It was honestly kind of cute, but why hadn't he just asked you out? He has made It more than clear that he likes you, but knowing him, he probably was too scared to go the extra step.
"Am I really going to have to be the one to put on the pants and do it myself?" You thought to yourself with a slight laugh about how he was so funny like that.
You had had enough looking at the sky and started to miss Oliver's presence, so you decided to go look for him. You started in the Gryffindor common room, assuming that was the more likely place for him to be. But to your surprise, you found him wondering the halls.
"Oliver!" You yelled out for him, picking up your pace to catch up to where he was.
He quickly turned around, knowing it was you right away. seeing you run towards him made his smile widen.
"Y/n, there you are. I've been looking for you everywhere," he says in relief of finally finding you, not once breaking eye contact with you.
"Aw, you were looking for me. How cute, miss you, did you?" You say with a teasing tone
"I think you seemed to miss me more with how urgently you were running to get to me," he teases back.
"Yes, I actually did miss you," you responded, which caught him a little off guard. He wasn't sure if that was you being sarcastic, but it didn't sound like your usual sarcastic voice.
"Are you joking with me? You missed me?" You say, confusion rolling in his voice
"No, I'm not joking with you. Of course I missed you, Wood" You say playfully, hitting his arm
He laughs awkwardly
"Hey but there was something I wanted to talk to you about," You asked
"What's that love?" He replies
You loved it when he called you love, especially with his Scottish accent, which you could never get enough of listening to.
"Come with me," you say, grabbing his hand and dragging him outside, where you had been looking at the night sky.
Once you both finally get outside, you look at the sky in which Oliver mirrors your movement, looking from you to the sky. You, after a moment, look away from the sky and look at Oliver.
"What is it?" Oliver says as he looks from the sky to see you smiling at him and admiring him, almost the same look he had given you in class.
"It's just, uhm," you say, not knowing the words to say. You felt a lot more confident earlier about this, but now that you're actually talking to him, you can't help but get butterflies all of a sudden. His eyebrows raise, waiting for you to say whatever it is you need to say.
"Well, uhm. Is it.. uhm?" You actually can't believe how pathetic you are. Just say something.
"Can I kiss you?" he interrupts you as you try to formulate a sentence. Your shoulders drop in relief.
"That's what I wanted to talk to you about," You say, smiling.
"Wait, in a good way or a bad way?" He says, looking excited yet nervous at the same time
You wrap your arms around his neck and move closer. As soon as you start moving, he immediately starts wrapping his arms around you, pulling you in as you both lean in for the kiss. His lips are so soft, which you didn't expect from him, but they were, and they were so warm. He was very gentle, and he took his time as if he was savoring every second.
As you pull away, your gaze drifts to his face, which is now a vivid shade of crimson. You can't help but laugh, finding him utterly adorable in his bashfulness. His shy demeanor makes your heart flutter. In a moment of playful affection, you lean in again, pressing a few quick, tender kisses on his soft lips and warm cheek, savoring the sweetness of the moment.
"C'mon," you say, your voice playful and bright, a wide smile spreading across your face as you clasp his hand tightly. An exhilarating sense of freedom washes over you, and you can't help but laugh as you tug him along. Together, you dash toward the grand entrance of the great hall, its warm lights glowing invitingly, promising a delightful dinner filled with laughter and good company.
