Peter and the other Guardians made their way through Knowhere. The groups eyes scanning the market stalls for anything and everything that might be of use. Rocket scrambling through piles of junk as he looked for something that would be suitable for his next devise.

"I am Groot." Little Groot called out, as he desperately tried to pull his friend away from the pile of metal parts. The tiny flora colossus trying with all his might to get Rocket's attention.

"Yeah, yeah. I'll be there in a minute." Rocket grumbled from under the pile of spare parts, as nut and bolts began to fly.

"I am Groot." Groot said again angrily, stamping his foot as he pulled on Rocket's fur. The halfworlder, letting out a yelp as some of his hair was pulled from the skin.

"Hey! What's got into you?" Rocket growled, rubbing the patched of now bare skin.

"I AM GROOT!" Groot exclaimed, as he pointed over to a stall. Grabbing one of his friends fingers and trying to pull him to his feet.

"What do ya mean, the spirit of the woods? What are you talking about?" Rocket asked, as he followed Groot over towards a stall that was selling an assortment of strange items. None of which looked of any use to the raccoon.

"What seed? What girl? You're not making any sense." Rocket grumbled as he crossed his arms over his chest. And watched as Groot pushed away some of the things on the table.

"He breaks it. He pays for it." The stall holder growled, obviously not too happy as Groot continued to rummage.

"What's going on?" Gamora asked, as she and the others came up behind Rocket. The entire team staring as Groot continued to rummage for the item that he had seen.

"I don't know. Groot keeps talking about a seed. A girl. And something he calls the spirit of the woods by the name of (Y/n). He says we have to grow her." Rocket told the others, as Groot suddenly, and triumphantly held up a large seed, that looked like the pit of a fruit.

"I am Groot." Groot continued, Rocket staring at him in disbelief.

"Why do I have to pay for it? And what do you mean, we need a pot and some soil too?" Rocket enquired, as the little Groot held the seed close, and looked up at the others with his best puppy dog eyes.

"Oh. He's so sweet." Mantis cooed softly from behind the others.

"I can sell you the pot and the soil as well. But it will cost you. I want five hundred units for everything." The stall holder told the Guardians. Peter nearly falling over when the big Jovian told them the price.

"Five hundred units for a seed, a pot, and some soil? Have you lost your mind?" Peter asked in disbelief, as he tried to pull the seed away from Groot. Groot pulling away from Peter and hiding the pit behind his back.

"The seed is very special. It is said to come all the way from Terra and is very old. And if you haven't noticed, good, clear soil is a hard thing to come by on Knowhere. So, unless you want to disappoint the little creature, I suggest that you pay." The stall holder informed Peter, as he held out his hand and waited for payment.

"I am Groot." Groot said, looking up at the others. Sniffing, and pretending to wipe away a tear from his eye.

"Oh jeez. Fine. But this better be the best damn soil in the galaxy." Peter grumbled, as he transferred the units. A happy Groot jumping down from the table and onto Rocket's shoulder. The still confused raccoon grabbing hold of the pot and the small bag of soil.

"You better be right about this. Otherwise, you'll never hear the last of it from the dummy." Rocket informed his little friend. Groot too busy hugging his prize to hear a word spoken.

                                                            >>-------------------------------<<

Groot pressed the dirt into the pot and pushed in the seed. Spilling most of the water on the floor of the Milano as he tried to water the pit. Peter and Rocket watching on as the little Groot spoke softly down into the soil.

"Is he making any more sense about this? And why would he want a seed that comes from Terra? I mean, that so called seed looks too big for anything that I can remember seeing when I was a kid." Peter enquired. Rocket simply shrugging as he turned and made his way to the cockpit.

"He just keeps saying that "she" is the spirit of the trees. That she's not just important to Terra, but also his people. And that we just have to wait until she grows." Rocket huffed, as he jumped into the pilot's seat and started the Milano's engines. The ship slowly lifting off from Knowhere. Peter mussing as he slumped into the co-pilot seat.

"What kind of she are we talking about? Is it gonna be a female Groot?" Peter asked. As the severed head of the Celestial avatar slowly began to disappear into the distance.

"I don't think so. Even though he say's that this so called spirit is important on Planet X, it sounds more like that she is something else." Rocket said. Feeling frustrated by his little friends seeming inability to explain things properly.

"Well, lets hope that he grows something good out of that seed. For five hundred units, I'm expecting a member of the Sovereign." Peter joked, as he left the cockpit. Leaving Rocket to wonder whether little Groot had lost his senses.

                                                            >>-------------------------------<<

"Why are ya still watering that thing. It ain't gonna grow." Rocket grumbled, as he watched Groot still insist on taking care of his expensive seed that showed no sign of growing. It had been some time since the team had left Knowhere, and despite how much care, attention, and water Groot seemed to lavish on the pit, not even a sprout had appeared.

"I am Groot." Groot replied, completely ignoring Rocket as he delicately patted the soil.

"You've been sayin that for months. If ya ask me, tha best thing to do with that is flush it out into space." Rocket continued, slightly taken aback as Groot turned around and glared at him.

"I AM GROOT!" Groot declared, as he grabbed his little pot and pulled it along the tabletop. Trying his best to hide it behind one of the metal shelves.

"Ok. Jeez. I won't touch it." Rocket told the little flora colossus. Holding up his paws in surrender. Groot glaring at him until Rocket left him alone with his seed.

                                                            >>--------------------------------<<

"I AM GROOT! I AM GROOT! I AM GROOT!" Groot shouted out, as he woke the other Guardians. Drax rushing into his room with both daggers drawn. The others rubbing their eyes and yawning as they dragged their bodies over to see what had got Groot so worked up.

"What? She's grown? Who's grown?" Rocket asked, too tired to remember his little friends pet project.

"I AM GROOT!" Groot called out again, as he rushed to a little corner of the room. The others stopping dead in their tracks, suddenly wide awake as their eyes fell on a beautiful woman they lay under a blanket of perfect flowers. Her own hair sporting delicate white blooms, that seem to grow from the woman herself.

"The spirit." Rocket said quietly. Groot standing proudly next to the slumbering female, as the others continued to stare. None of them sure what to think.
