Without warning the equipment in the room that surrounded their mysterious new guest began to blare. Charles slowly opening his eyes and smiling softly, as he turned to look at the people that had rushed into the room.

"Well?" Bucky asked nervously, as he pushed his way to the front of the crowd.

"Give her a few moments. She should wake up soon. She has a long way to come back." Charles reassured, as he continued to hold onto her metal hand.

"Charles." A soft voice suddenly said. The team crowding around the bed as the eyes of the woman slowly fluttered open.

"Yes, (Y/n). I'm here. It's safe. You can come back." Charles replied, as he felt (Y/n)'s dargonite hand grip his a little tighter. Her piercing silver eyes looking around the room. Nervously scanning the faces of all those around her.

Suddenly Bucky's mind filled with terrible images. Thoughts of his old life as the Winter Soldier flashing before his eyes. His body jolting as he felt the memories hit him like lightning strikes.

"I have to get out of here, Steve." Bucky almost whispered to his friend, as he turned away so that the woman couldn't see his features.

"What are you talkin about Buck. You're the one that's wanted her to wake up the most. You've barley left her side. She's here because of you. But now that she's awake you change your mind?" Steve whispered in reply, not sure what to make of the haunted look on his friend's face.

"Just believe me when I say that she won't want to see me. Let's just get out of here." Bucky continued as he pushed through the others, ignoring their confused looks as he stormed out of the door with Steve in tow.

"What the heck has got into you, Buck? What's going on?" Steve asked as Bucky fell into one of the chairs outside the room. His head dropping into his hands as he tried to fight off the visions that were invading his thoughts.

"I just can't see her, and she can't see me. If we are going to get her to stay here, to get her to trust us. Then it is better that I stay as far away from her as possible." Bucky replied. The super soldier remaining annoyingly cryptic.

"Will you cut the crap, Buck. Tell me what's going on. Tell me what changed your mind within a matter of seconds." Steve insisted, needing to know what had altered his friend's demeanour so quickly.

"Its my fault, Steve. It's my fault that she is like she is." Bucky began, as Steve took a seat next to him.

"They used me to try and get to her. To try and break her. I remember everything. But god knows I wish I didn't. I destroyed her. The doctors began by just removing things like her fingers to see what would happen. And when the dargonite altered the new metal digits, they removed more and more. But when Hydra couldn't get her under control, they used me. I broke her bones, Steve. I crushed them. Tortured her. Did everything that they told me to do. Its all my fault." Bucky bemoaned as he struggled to swallow the large lump that had formed in his throat. The feeling of guilt sitting like a boulder in the pit of his stomach.

"Buck, that wasn't you. The real you would never have done that. You know that. We all know that. If she is going to stay here, if you are going to help her like you said you wanted to. If you are going to help her hunt down and destroy all those that did that to her, then she has to get to know you. The real you. She has to see that you aren't that Winter Soldier anymore. You aren't Hydra's weapon anymore. And the compound is big, Buck. But it ain't that big. You can't avoid her forever." Steve reminded his old friend. Bucky looking up at him, as tears pricked at the corners of his eyes.

"But don't you see, Steve. How can I help her hunt down and destroy all those that did that to her, when I was the one that did that to her? I'm a monster Steve." Bucky replied, shaking his head as he dropped it back into his hands.

"Bucky. You have to face her." Steve told him. Placing a reassuring hand on Bucky's shoulder. The Winter Soldier nodding reluctantly.

The rest of the team stared in disbelief at the beauty that now stared back at them. Even though Vision was an android with a synthetic body, this woman was something altogether different. A unique, and exquisite creature. That all those present couldn't help but wonder about.

"(Y/n) my dear." Charles said as he drew her attention to him. Smiling softly up at her.

"May I introduce everyone to you." Charles continued, as he turned his chair so that he was facing the amassed Avengers.

"There's no need, Charles. I think.........I think I remember. Hydra used to show me pictures, hundreds of them. They used to tell me that the people in the photos were bad, evil. That if I helped them, they would be able to destroy these bad people, and make the world safe. I never believed them, but I remember the faces of everyone of them." (Y/n) told Charles, as her eyes fell on Tony.

"Anthony Edward Stark. Born Friday, May 29, 1970, in Manhattan, New York. Only child of Howard and Maria Stark. Alias, Iron Man." (Y/n) began, before she continued with the others in a similar vein. Her voice sounding almost robotic. Like her mind had been programmed with all the information that she would need to locate and destroy each and every one of them.

"Vision. Synthezoid. Born, May 2015. Made from vibranium created by Ultron and Doctor Helen Cho, using the mind stone to bring you to life. The remnants of Stark's AI, J.A.R.V.I.S uploaded into your body. Quite an interesting specimen." (Y/n) noted, as the two nodded at one another respectfully.

"But there is someone missing. Steven Grant Rogers. Born July 4, 1918, in New York City. Son of Sarah and Joseph Rogers. Alias, Captain America." (Y/n) recited, looking around for the face of the super soldier.

"Where are they?" Tony whispered to Bruce. The doctor shrugging as they both noted that neither Steve nor Bucky were in the room.

"I don't know. They were here when she woke up. I thought that they just went to the back of the room." Bruce replied. All eyes turning to the door as Steve walked back into the room.

"Well, that's one of them. Where's the other?" Tony said, as everyone waited for Bucky to appear.

Slowly, and reluctantly Bucky returned. His face covered by is hair. Steve pulling his oldest friend to his side.

"It's very nice to meet you. I think that you two might know one another." Steve said hesitantly, as he looked into the sparkling metal eyes of the woman in the bed. Hoping that this would go better than Bucky feared.

Taking a deep breath, Bucky cautiously looked up. The others watching on in disbelief as (Y/n) demeanour suddenly changed. The woman springing from the bed and holding Bucky by his throat up against the wall. Almost roaring like a wild beast as a long thin blade appeared from her right hand and was pressed against the super soldiers chest.
