I couldn't resist putting this part in 😁 Hope you all enjoy it.

(Y/n) watched the large man that had just entered the diner as he took a seat at the counter. He was different to the usual drifters and truck drivers that they got coming through. Different to those that got off the bus on a weekly basis. She knew he was like her. Knew that he was a mutant without him even having to do anything but take a seat. There was a rough, tough air about him. Something that seemed to suggest that he had been through more than his fair share of trouble. And that only intrigued (Y/n) more. Raven had always joked that just like the old proverb, (Y/n)'s curiosity would one day get the better of her and could get her in trouble. But there was something about the new customer that made (Y/n) want to know more.

"Handsome." Nancy cooed from behind (Y/n). (Y/n) chuckling and shaking her head as the older woman hummed, looking the big man up and down.

"Why don't you go serve him, sweetheart. He looks hungry." Nancy continued, as she almost pushed (Y/n) over towards the big man. (Y/n) sighing heavily as she stood before the mutant that was chewing on the end of an old looking cigar, as he ran his eyes over the menu.

After (Y/n) had used her mutation to help Hank, she had told the old couple all about her life. All about Charles and Erik, about Raven and the others. About why she had left like she had, despite wanting more than anything to stay. About how she loved Erik more than anything yet couldn't ruin the bond between the two friends. And since that moment, whenever any handsome man came into the diner, Nancy had insisted that (Y/n) serve them, hoping that she could find her, in Nancy's words, "a nice guy".

"Hi. What can I get you?" (Y/n) asked, giving Nancy an annoyed glance as she waited for the man to answer.

"Coffee." Came the reply. The man never looking up from the menu as (Y/n) grabbed a cup and filled it from the pot.

"If you need something else, just let me know." (Y/n) said, shrugging at Nancy as she began to walk away.

"Burger. Rare." Came the man's gruff voice, again. (Y/n) just nodding as she made her way to place his order.

"I just love men with such a large vocabulary. I mean, words with just one or two syllables are so underrated." (Y/n) joked to Nancy, as the older woman watched the man puff on his cigar. (Y/n) waiting for Hank to cook the man's order.

"Honey. When a man looks like that, he doesn't need to have a large vocabulary." Nancy chuckled. (Y/n) joining in as Hank peered into the diner from the kitchen. Huffing indignantly, as he turned back to his hotplate.

"He ain't all that. I used to look just like that when I was younger." Hank insisted, as both women tried to stifle their laughter.

"Yeah, of course ya did. You keep tellin yaself that." Nancy replied, as she took the plate of food from her husband's hand and gave it to (Y/n).

"One burger. Rare." (Y/n) declared, as she placed the plate down in front of the man. (Y/n) suddenly yelping as a bony claws appeared without warning from between the mans knuckles and pierced (Y/n)'s flesh. The sound of a backfiring car seeming to have triggered the reaction.

Quicky (Y/n) threw a towel over the man's hand and her arm. The man looking up at her as she made sure that no one else had noticed.

"It's ok. It was just a car backfiring. We get a lot of that around here. Its nothing to worry about, I promise. But can I suggest that you hide those things, as a lot of people around here have mixed ideas about our kind." (Y/n) told him, as she felt the claws slowly leaving her flesh.

"Look kid, I'm sorry. Are you ok?" The man asked. (Y/n) smiling and nodding reassuringly as she used the towel to mop up the blood on the counter. The man watching as the three wound marks on her arm, instantly disappeared.

"I'm fine. Don't worry. But like I said, you might want to watch what you do around here. Like everywhere else, a lot of the locals don't like us." (Y/n) told him. The man nodding as he pulled his food towards him.

"I'm (Y/n) by the way." (Y/n) said, as she held out her hand and waited for the man to take it.

"Look. You just stabbed me. The least you can do is introduce yourself." (Y/n) continued, as the man finally took her hand.

"Logan." Logan replied. (Y/n) smiling at the man's gruff demeanour.

"Well, its nice to meet you Logan. You staying in town for a while?" (Y/n) continued, despite getting the idea that this Logan wasn't the talkative kind.

"My campervan needs a new part. So, I'll be here until its fixed." Logan replied, as he finally picked up his burger and suck his teeth into his meal.

"If you need a mechanic, AJ and Chuck do a great job. And if you need a place to stay, the hotel at the end of main street is the best place. It's clean, comfortable and cheap. And if you tell the manager, Marv, that I sent you, he'll make sure your comfortable." (Y/n) continued as Logan wiped his mouth with one of the napkins from the dispenser.

"Ya don't sound like ya from round here either." Logan replied. (Y/n) happier that the big man finally seemed slightly friendlier.

"Your right. I was brought up in England. But up until a while ago I was living in Westchester County, New York with some friends. And now......well now I call Huntersville home." (Y/n) informed him, as she topped up his coffee cup.

"What brought ya here? Ya don't seem like the kinda girl to be in a place like this. Ya sound to posh." Logan continued, as he pushed his now empty plate away and reached for his coffee.

"I don't know whether to take that as a compliment of not. But I am here for the same reason that most of our kind come through here. I was running away. But I accidentally came to care for the people around here." (Y/n) said, actually enjoying being able to speak with another mutant. Liking this gruff Logan more and more as they continued to talk.

                                                             >>--------------------------------<<

"Looks like I found her one." Nancy smiled, as she looked over at (Y/n) and the big man. The two continuing to talk, and (Y/n) even laughing.

"Why do ya bother, woman. Ya know that one day her friends will come for her. Ya know if that Erik loves her as much as she loves him, then there's no way he won't be looking for her. Ya should keep ya nose out of the girl business. Ya know that she won't be here forever. Ya just have to accept it. I know ya want her to stay, but she isn't Mary. She isn't our daughter, Nancy." Hank told her, leaning over and kissing his wife on the cheek, before returning to his kitchen.

"I know ya right. But I can hope. And there's nothing wrong with wanting her to be happy while she is here. I haven't seen that big a smile on her face since she arrived." Nancy replied. As she made her way over to serve some of the locals, leaving (Y/n) to talk with her new friend.
