"Are you sure you can beat him (Y/n)?" Christmas asked, as he and the others stared at the weapons expert.
"Oh, ye of little faith Christmas, you should know me better by now. It's about time someone kicked Gunnar Jensen off his high horse, and I'm just the woman to do it." (Y/n) said, crossing her arms as she looked over at a smug looking Gunnar.
"As much as I appreciate your confidence (Y/n), this is a drinking contest, and Gunnar is not unknown for his abilities in that area. As much as I believe in you, I don't want to lose my money if I bet on you." Barney said as he took a drink from his own glass.
"Barney, you should know never to judge a book by its cover. The fact that I am not known for being able to consume my own body weight in beer, or in this case, Scotch, only makes the odds better; a bet on Gunnar will gain you very little in return as he is the favourite, but a bet on me as a long shot could easily double your money if not more. You're a gambling man Barney, so take the gamble." (Y/n) said, as Barney saw the subtle twinkle in her eyes, encouraging him to place his money on her.
Barney and the rest of the boys had not known the female weapons expert long, but from what they did know of her, they had no reason to doubt what she said. She was stubborn, strong willed, highly skilled with any weapon that was put in her hands, and from what they had seen while on the few jobs that she had been on with them, she was loyal, committed to the team and extremely intelligent and well educated.
When Gunnar had introduced his old friend to the team, they were all surprised to find out that a woman like her had even been in the forces, never mind achieved what she had achieved while in the service; but they had quickly realised her worth when they had seen her in action.
She also bought a calming effect to the team, cool and level headed, she was always good at dealing with the different extremes of the teams personalities, and the hangar was often filled with the sound of classical music as she helped Barney work on maintaining the teams latest piece of junk plane, the others listening along as they played cards or cleaned gear. Even Church seemed to like the latest addition to the little rascals. Already having christened her Pebbles to go with Barney's Bamm- Bamm.
"Ok Dahlin, my money is on you." Barney said, rising from his seat and going to place his bet, grabbing another beer as he left.
"Are you sure you want to do this (Y/n)? You're a lady, a lady really shouldn't be getting involved in a drinking contest." Toll said, making (Y/n) laugh at the statement.
"Toll, I appreciate your concern, and it's really sweet of you; but it's just a drinking contest; and I do lots of things that a lady shouldn't. I shouldn't spend most of my time in bars with you lot of degenerates, but I do. And I wouldn't change a single thing. Now are you going to bet on me or not?" She asked, smiling at Toll.
With an equally wide smile, Toll walked off to place his bet, followed by Christmas and the others as (Y/n) made her way over to take a seat across from Gunnar.
"Should you really be drinking already Gunnar?" (Y/n) asked, as she sat down, watching as Gunnar took another gulp of beer.
"I'm just warming up beautiful; I don't think I have much to worry about, a couple of glasses of strong scotch and you'll be flat on your back with your legs in the air, just how I like you." Gunnar said, smirking, as he took another drink.
Flirting between the two old friends was nothing new; the pair had known one another for years, and even though (Y/n) was quite a little bit younger than Gunnar, they had instantly become friends. They had fought together on more than one occasion, with a strong bond forming between the two. In a world where it was sometimes difficult to know who you could trust; Gunnar always knew that he could trust (Y/n) and vis versa. She had been the one person to stand by him no matter how bad his addictions had got, and she was the one that helped him come through the other side.
(Y/n) leant across the table so that her face was mere inches from his. "Oh please, you wouldn't know what to do with me if you did get my legs in the air! But maybe one day you'll prove me wrong." She chuckled, placing a soft kiss on Gunnar's nose.
"And I can assure you blondie, if anyone is going to be flat on their back with their legs in the air, it'll be you."
Gunnar couldn't help but chuckle at her, he knew how determined she could be, and if anyone could beat him it was sure to be her, not as though he would ever tell her that. He had always admired her, always found her intriguing, always found her beautiful. On long lonely nights it was always her that he had found himself thinking of; thankful that despite everything that he had done to her, and put her through, she had always been with him, helping all she could. There were times when he had wanted to tell her how he felt, to always have her by his side, but he knew her too well, and the last thing he wanted to do was lose her because he professed feelings that may not be returned.
As the drinks were lined up on the table in front of the pair, (Y/n) couldn't help but smile. "I'll ask you one last time Gunnar, are you sure you want to do this? You don't want a little lady making a fool of you in front of all these lovely people, do you?" She asked, looking around the large crowd that had formed around the pair.
"I'm sure beautiful, in fact I'm that sure that I can beat you, that if you beat me, I will be your slave for the day, to do with as you wish." He chuckled, seeing the slight pink hue come to her cheeks.
"Is that a normal slave, or sex slave?" (Y/n) asked, biting her bottom lip seductively, and watching as Gunnar's eyebrows seemed to shoot up into his hairline.
(Y/n) began to laugh, looking at her flustered friend, a state in which she was not used to seeing him.
"Don't worry Gunnar, I wouldn't make you do anything you didn't want to." She said smiling and taking her first drink in her hand.
Regaining his composure, Gunnar picked up his drink. "Who said I didn't want to?" He asked, as he took his first drink, his tongue licking the rim of the glass as he looked deep into her eyes.

As the evening wore on, it was obvious that neither of the two was going to give up, as drink after drink was downed; and as more bets changed hands Gunnar couldn't help but notice that (Y/n) didn't even seem slightly tipsy, never mind drunk.
"How the hell are you still sober? You look like your drinkin nothin but water." Gunnar slurred, as he watched her down another drink.
(Y/n) leaned forward so that she could speak to him quietly. "I'll let you in on a little secret Gunnar, I can't get drunk! Never been able to, my body doesn't absorb the alcohol and it passes through your system, so, I can do this all night." She said with a chuckle, leaning back and watching as Gunnar let out a small groan, the alcohol coursing through his system.
"You mean you let me make that bet and you knew I didn't stand a chance of winning?" He asked, slurring even more as he grinned widely.
"Well, how could I turn down the opportunity of having Gunnar Jensen as my slave for the day?" (Y/n) chuckled, taking another drink.
Gunnar put his elbows on the table and placed his face in his hands. "Sex slave beautiful, sex slave for the day." He said wiggling his eyebrows at her.
"So, I might just find out what you would do if I had my legs in the air after all." She said, watching as Gunnar slipped from his chair, falling unceremoniously onto the floor.
As he looked up at her from the floor, he couldn't help but smile. "Don't you worry beautiful; I'll show you what I can do and more." He said, cuddling up to the shot glass in his hand.
As she knelt down beside him, she brushed his hair away from his face. "I'll hold you to that blondie, and don't make any plans on leaving bed, because we have a lot of years to catch up on." (Y/n) said, leaving a grinning Gunnar to be pulled up from the floor by Toll and Caesar.
Watching her walk away, Gunnar couldn't help but wish the pair had had a drinking contest much sooner.
