Chapter Thirteen:

"Loving you was hard, letting you go was harder."

The room was a mess. Clothes were thrown everywhere, shoes scattered the floors and the duvets from the bed were now in a heaping pile on the floor. A body was curled up near the foot of the bed. Tissues surrounded them. Sniffles could be heard and Atlas could only assume it was Aara. She stepped closer to the girl and crouched down next to her.

"Aara, what's wrong?" Atlas asks quietly.

She doesn't hear an answer so she peels the blanket away from Aara's face. The girl had tears streaming down her face and her eyes were puffy from crying. Her pale skin was tinted red and overall she looked worn down. Atlas couldn't believe her eyes and wrapped the girl into a hug. She held her for five minutes quietly rocking her whispering soothing things into her ear until she was ready to speak.

"You know you can tell me anything right." Atlas explains rubbing Aara's back in a comforting way.

"It's - "She starts but doesn't finish. Atlas doesn't prompt her anymore, not wanting her to break down again.

"They hexed me." She whispers quietly. She picks up her forearm to show the word mudblood charmed on it.

"Oh my,"

This made Atlas' blood boil. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. How could anyone be so cruel to do that to anyone, let alone Aara who happened to be the nicest person on the planet. Atlas was furious and she couldn't wait to find out who had done this.

"Who?" Atlas questions.

"It doesn't matter," She dismisses.

"It does Aara, you can tell me." She combs her fingers through Aara's hair.

They didn't speak. It was a calm sort of quiet but deeper than the surface both girls were hurting. Aara for having the vilest slur on her arm and Atlas because some idiots thought they could get away with this. Hannah had returned with Madam Pomfrey who told them that only one could stay with Aara. Hannah had already volunteered which meant that Atlas had to go back to class. Before she left Aara had whispered something.

"Thomas Avery and Ellie Max."

Atlas recognised their names. They were in many of her classes. Two of the most pompous annoying Slytherin's who thought they were better than everyone else. They were like Draco Malfoy but on steroids. Coincidentally they were in her next class. It was transfiguration with McGonagall. Atlas hugs Aara goodbye before storming to her next class.

She wanted to get there before the class was there, it would give her a chance to confront the two idiots who decided to do this. She power walked through the halls ignoring Lorenzo and Theo who had tried to get her attention. They had never seen her mad ever and had decided to run after her. Even though she had short legs they were struggling to keep up.

Atlas barged into the classroom. She saw Pansy sitting with Kiera talking with Professor McGonagall next to their seats. Thomas and Ellie stood near the front waiting to hand in their assignments. The rest of the classroom was empty. Atlas marched up to where the two were standing and knocked the book out of Ellie's hands.

"Think it's funny do you?" She demanded and they looked at the girl confused.

"You hexed Aara." She shouted.

Lorenzo, Theo and Draco walked in staring at the situation in front of them shocked at what they were hearing.

"Aara? You mean that filthy little mudblood." Ellie scoffed. This angered Atlas even further.
