Chapter Twenty-Three:

"I wish it would stop hurting."

It was a Monday morning and Atlas was sitting potions. She stared mindlessly at her nails while Draco was brewing a potion for the class. She had gotten used to the fact that he would never let her do anything and started using that to her advantage. So potions became the one class where she would catch up on work from previous lessons. She had finished most of the work already and was most likely miles ahead of other students.

"You forgot to get the eye of newt." Draco says monotonous.

"Hmm?" Atlas says absentminded.

"I said, you forgot the eye of newt." He says harshly.

Atlas rolls her eyes at the blonde haired boy.

"Well?" He questions making Atlas sigh dramatically.

"Well what?" She questions.

"Are you not going to go get it?" He demands.

"Do I look like I'm here to serve you? If you need it so bad go get it yourself." She replies stubbornly.

"I swear to Merlin if you don't I'll." Draco starts before he was interrupted by the sassy girl sitting next him.

"You'll do what Draco?" She teases. "You can't do anything without your stupid henchmen." She says referencing Crabbe and Goyle.

"You don't get to talk to me like that." He spits out.

"Like what?" She says bewildered. "Like you're not the king of the world? Because you definitely aren't Malfoy."

"What's with all the bickering?" Snape drawls out.

"Detention, both of you." He says before sauntering back to the other students leaving them no time to protest against it.

"Look at what you've caused." Draco mutters.

"Me?" She exclaims incredulously. "If you weren't so misogynistic all the damn time we wouldn't have detention."

Atlas was the first to rush out of the classroom after Snape dismissed them. She stormed through the halls and was in a foul mood for the rest of the day. Atlas had been so furious she had sat with Kaia at the Ravenclaw table as she didn't want to see Malfoy's face. Even in Transfiguration she remained silent although Lorenzo had made many jokes. All she could think about was ripping Draco to shreds.

It was now time for detention and Atlas drags herself to Snape's classroom. She enters the classroom and notices she had gotten thee before Draco. She hands her wand over to the potions teacher before settling down at a random desk. Snape and Atlas wait for the Slytherin devil to arrive so that he could give the instructions at the same time. It took ten minutes for Draco to arrive and he walked in flustered.

"You are late Mr Malfoy." Snape mutters. "Detention for you tomorrow."

"Sorry Professor." He whispers unapologetically.

Snape drones on about his expectations and then leaves to his office. Atlas groans before standing up and walking to the cauldrons and starts scrubbing them down. She rinses them with the nearby tap and half an hour later she had barely made a dent in the pile. It was only then that she realised that Draco hadn't even made a start on any. She turns to stare at the boy.

"What are you waiting for?" She demands.

He looks up at her, his chin resting in his hand.

"What?" He says nonchalantly.
