Chapter Twelve:
"We're just two kids who fell in love."
The weekend was over and Atlas laid in bed angry at the thought of having to go to lessons. She was tired as she had spent the whole night painting Ren's nails and cutting her hair. She had wanted a makeover and Atlas was the quickest to say she would do it. She had been excited wanting to style the girl but now regrets it as she noticed the deep bags on her face from staying awake. She begrudgingly rolls out of bed tripping over the covers landing with a thump on the floor.
"What happened?" Ren asks, rushing in. She sees Atlas on the floor and rolls her eyes.
"Get up, lazy."
"No," Atlas groans.
"I think we should just skip today. Let's sneak into Hogsmeade." Atlas suggested but was turned down.
"No, get up and go get ready before we're late." She instructs before getting ready herself.
Atlas stands up, making her bed before changing into the school uniform. Instead of the usual thin tights she wears Atlas opted for long knee high thick socks to keep her legs warmer. Although she had recovered, Atlas still felt shivers run through her body. She left her tie undone resting around her neck and threw her robe on top. She brushed her brown hair into a messy bun, rubbed lip gloss on her lips and called it a day.
Kiera had left an hour ago, wanting to cram in a study session with Aara and Ren had waited for Atlas. Once she was finally ready, she grabbed her books and followed her blonde friend down to the great hall. She took her regular seat in front of Draco and next to her brother.
Malfoy watched the twins do their usual routine of Apollo passing Atlas the cup of coffee and watched her down it in the matter of two seconds. He grimaced at the thought of coffee and didn't understand why the girl loved it so much. He watched her take down her hair and put it back up into a high ponytail, muttering how she didn't like the way she looked.
Eli who had sat opposite Lorenzo had watched Draco stare at Atlas. He noticed Draco's eyes focussed only on her and looked away whenever she looked back at him. He also realised that Atlas only ever looked at Theo for longer than a minute. It confused the boy. How could it be that he had only missed one week of school and there was already a possible love triangle.
Atlas sat fiddling with her tie, getting it done up before she headed to potions. She didn't want Snape to give her detention for improper uniform. It would add a dent to her already bad mood. Atlas wasn't a morning person unlike Apollo. She was a night owl and preferred the comfort of the moon over the sun. She felt less productive during the day but as the sun set her energy kicked in allowing her to work efficiently.
Breakfast was over and it was time for the first lesson of the day. She stood up from the table. The top of her thighs felt cold as well as her hands. She shoved her hands into her robes hoping they would warm up soon. It was only September but the air began to get cooler, a sign that winter was coming.
When she walked in the cauldrons were already at the desks and Snape stood at the front watching the students pile in. Atlas made a beeline towards Draco who got to the classroom before her somehow. She sits on the stool behind him smiling at Harry who whispered a small 'hello' to her on his way to his desk. Draco scoffed beside her.
"Why do you hate him so much Malfoy?" She huffed annoyed at Draco.
"The same reason I hate you, you're both annoying as hell. Makes me wanna hex myself into oblivion." He retorts.
"Well why don't you? You insufferable little bi-." She gets cut off.
"Watch your mouth, Miss Lennon." Snape drawls out. She purses her lips.
