Chapter Two:
"A fortunate stroke of serendipity."
The next morning was frightening. Atlas barely got any sleep due to her nerves and even a calming draught couldn't help the young girl. Starting at a new school was the only way the usually confident girl would become quiet and shy. However, she is usually quick to adapt to the environment and is able to fit in. It was easy for her to do so, in such a big family you had to make sure you were noticeable so they didn't forget about you.
Atlas hurried and changed out of her pyjamas and into the clothes she had left on the side last night. It consisted of a vintage jumper she had bought in America and a pair of brown corduroy jeans. She rushed to the connected bathroom and hurried to do her morning routine. She was late. She had slept through the alarm clock she had charmed to go off and now had at least twenty minutes before they were supposed to be at the train station. This was a somewhat regular occurrence for her. She although very smart was also very forgetful and it ended up meaning she was tardy to almost every event.
She noticed that her stuff was no longer in her room meaning that her mother must've taken them down to be with the rest of the stuff. Which meant that they had not bothered to wake her up. She grumbled to herself about how rude her family was before running down the stairs. Breakfast was set at the dining table and by the looks of it all of her brothers were already on their second plates. She hurriedly sat on an empty chair grabbing a clean plate before piling it up with her mother's fresh pancakes.
"Apollo can you pass the whipped cream". She had asked looking up at her twin who sat opposite her.
He looked up at her in shock as if he didn't even see her there. This was a usual for him, he was always caught up in his own world. He reached over for the bottle and grabbed it and squirted half of it onto his plate before passing back to his sister. Atlas rolled her eyes before putting the remaining of the whipped cream onto her pancakes. She then not so gracefully shoved the food down her throat as quickly as she physically could.
Today was the day that they were due to start at Hogwarts. The family had lived in England during the births of their children but when Seth's job became more demanding in other countries they had moved to the States. The twins had been six at the time. While in America the family had transferred the oldest two from Hogwarts and into Ilvermorny and the younger children went to a normal muggle primary school until they were old enough to join the rest of the siblings.
The time at Ilvermorny wasn't the best for Atlas. She had never gotten along with her roommates and felt the teachers didn't really care about the students enough to teach them properly. Instead she dreamed of going to the French school Beauxbaton's which she heard looked after their pupils really well. However, Atlas's mother insisted on moving back to England so her children can attend the school that she once had.
This meant that Ares would be the only sibling to have not have attended the school as a student since he had already finished his studies. Instead he would be joining a professor by the name of Madam Hooch to help coach the quidditch teams. Ares was one of the most talented quidditch players that Atlas knows. He was named the best and youngest chaser in the century back at Ilvermorny. But he had a passion for teaching so instead of going on to play professionally he opted to help teach others the sport instead.
The more Atlas thought about it the more nervous she grew. She didn't want to start at the school but she had no other option. Her mother had talked about the school often in a positive light but that didn't help her nerves. She pondered about if Apollo and Ajax would be sorted into the same house as her or if Ares had to be sorted at all. Which led her to try and remember which houses her parents had been in, in their youth.
