Chapter Three:

"The oceans between us."

Atlas had left the compartment first and was overwhelmed at the amount of people that were trying to leave the train at the same time. She managed to squeeze herself between people and try to weave her way through the crowd. The sheer amount of people had made the girl feel slightly claustrophobic. She tried to get passed but instead she ended up stuck behind a big group of friends.

While looking around for a possible exit Atlas sees the familiar bleach blond hair that she had encountered hours before. This immediately put a scowl on her face as it reminded her how rude he was. At this moment Atlas was surrounded by strangers and had lost her brothers along the way. The only thing that was on her mind was getting off the train.

It felt like hours before Atlas finally got to breath in the fresh air when she got off the train. Although it had only been ten minutes it was one of the worst experiences she had. She had found her brothers huddled together and they had followed the large man named Hagrid into the castle.

The castle was big. That was indeed an understatement. Atlas was in awe at the interior of the place. It reminded her of a French museum she had visited once when she was younger. As they had made their way through to the entrance of the great hall, the siblings were approached by an old woman. She was dressed in dark green robes and a tall pointy hat.

"You must be the Lennon's I presume?" She asks.

"Yes Ma'am." Ares replied.

"If you'd like to follow me Dumbledore would like you to get sorted before the ceremony begins for the first years."

She walked off quickly taking fast strides and the four followed shortly behind her. The walk hadn't taken long but it was tiring for the young girl. Her short legs couldn't keep up with the rest of them which left her a panting mess behind them. She had also been informed that the stairs move which of course frightened her since she didn't know the purpose behind that. The lady had introduced herself as Professor McGonagall the head of Gryffindor house.

Professor McGonagall had explained the houses to the four.

"The four Houses are called Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. Each House has its own noble history and each has produced outstanding witches and wizards. While you are at Hogwarts, your triumphs will earn your House points, while any rule breaking will lose House points. At the end of the year, the House with the most points is awarded the House Cup, a great honour. I hope each of you will be a credit to whichever House becomes yours."

"The houses value different traits. Gryffindor values their bravery, chivalry and daringness. Ravenclaw values their intelligence, knowledge, curiosity, creativity and wit. Slytherin values ambition, leadership, cunningness and resourcefulness. And last but not least Hufflepuff values hard work, dedication, patience, loyalty, and fair play while being kind and just".

They had reached Dumbledore's office where they would be sorted. Professor McGonagall had left to sort out the first years to make sure they behaved themselves. Dumbledore had invited them in and now the four were awkwardly standing around waiting to be instructed on what to do. Atlas had gotten distracted as she examined the room, it was filled to the brim with books and all sorts of things. Atlas had also noticed a pensieve to the side. She was broken out of her thoughts by a cough.

"Welcome to Hogwarts, I am the Headmaster but you can call me Professor Dumbledore." He introduces himself.

"Now, who would like to go first?" He asks, looking at the four standing in front of him. His eyes narrowed down at Atlas before they swept around to the rest of her siblings.
