Chapter Forty-Three:

"I had all of you and then none of you, as if you just disappeared into thin air."

"An attack?" Pansy whispers while Dumbledore makes an announcement about the latest attack from the death eaters.

Atlas stared at the headmaster as he recalled the events that happened in Hogsmeade. A chill ran through her body almost as if someone was walking over her grave. The indescribable feeling of fear and anger consuming the young Lennon's emotions. The names Antonin Dolohov and Bellatrix Lestrange repeated over and over in her head. One being her brother's murder and the other an accomplice.

It had been over a month since Apollo Lennon's death and the days had not gotten easier. It was nearing Christmas. The first holiday without her twin and surprisingly it wasn't sadness that was lingering over Atlas. Instead it was thoughts about revenge. While Apollo was the calmer more calculating twin, Atlas was impulsive and angry and the only thing she wanted more than her brother back was revenge. And she would stop at nothing to achieve it.

In fact, she had been in Rowena's study with Polly recently. She had contemplated repeating the blood ritual she had used for Harry to see his parents to see Apollo again but upon her research she found more spells, she found something more permanent. Among the books was a sacrificial spell to bring someone back from the dead. It was complicated but as soon as her eyes hit the page it had never left her mind. She thought about it day and night and if she pulled it off she would have her brother back and the two could wreak havoc on the death eaters that harmed the two of them. Starting with their father.

The spell required power, a lot of it. And that is where Atlas is key. She could siphon from another witch or wizard and harbour the power of two beings temporarily. Next it needed a sacrifice. Any animal or being needed to be sacrificed, a soul for a soul. As a banshee it meant that Atlas performing the spell would open the barrier from the other side and allow any being from the past to enter but if it meant Apollo could return Atlas would risk anything.

The other side was something that Atlas hadn't been educated on. She knew that there was a special place for the supernatural to go when they died but she didn't know that there was a way to access that. It meant that her as well as any other Banshee was the key. They weren't just a caller for death, they were special. It intrigued the teen beyond belief. It also raised questions on why it was just her in the family that had been a heretic. She had so many brothers were it possible that they too were one?

Atlas planned to do the ritual at the end of the week. There was going to be a full moon which would help power the sacrifice. The celestial event would help aid Atlas. The full moon wasn't something that just werewolves were bound to but also other supernatural creatures. Some benefitted from it, others didn't. All Atlas needed was some help, someone to siphon off of and someone she could trust. It may have seemed like she had many options but most of them fell through.

While Kiera was a great friend. Her and Atlas aren't as close. Kiera has a good heart and would most likely want to talk her out of it instead of helping her. And while Atlas had a lot of admiration for Kiera, she just wasn't the one for the job. The young Lennon's next choice was Ren of course. Ren was her best friend and a sister to her, however, she too has too much of a good heart to want to let Atlas struggle and risk everything to do something that most people consider impossible.

Lorenzo was a top contender for Atlas. As well as Pansy. While the two of them would hands down do anything asked of them, Atlas wondered how far that loyalty would go. Would they watch her as she murdered an innocent animal in an attempt to get her brother back? Would they question her and assume she is losing her mind trying to do something that has never been done before? There was too high of a risk bringing them in.
