Chapter Twenty-Two:

"You were my salvation."

Atlas spent most of her free time reading. It was more now than she had ever before. She spent countless nights since her mother revealed the truth up at night trying to gain as much information as she could. She invested all of her effort into finding out more about her abilities. She had to balance out school work, time with her friends and quidditch equally. It was only until Ren confronted her that she decided to stop.

Both her and Ren currently stood watch outside of Filch's office while Theo and Lorenzo were inside setting up a prank. The two girls stood on guard, peering around the hallways while they let their friends set up a prank. They wouldn't be in this predicament, however, Filch had decided to give them all detention last week over nothing which meant they all wanted to get their revenge.

Ren and Atlas looked at each other as soon as they heard rustling around. They look around nervously, on edge since the boys were making so much noise. The door to the office opens and Lorenzo and Theo run out in laughter. Theo grabs Atlas' hand running off with her while she tries to keep up with his long legs. Ren and Lorenzo aren't too far behind. The footsteps echoed through the halls as they made their way to the Slytherin dorms.

Theo opened the door to his dorm to reveal Eli laying across his bed. Atlas falls down onto Lorenzo's bed which was closest to the door. Her breaths come out in small sighs since she was so out of breath from the small distance she had run. Ren collapses next to her also out of breath. The four wait quietly trying to catch their breaths and Eli was the first to break the silence. He slams his book shut and looks over at his friends.

"What did you idiots do this time?" He sighs.

"Planted a slime bomb on Filch." Lorenzo beams proudly.

"And you two helped?" Eli asks the two girls, slightly disappointed.

"No, we were just looking out." Ren laughs which causes Eli to roll his eyes.

"What are you doing tomorrow?" Theo asks looking at Atlas.

"Shopping with the girls." She replies.

"Are we invited?" Lorenzo asks cheekily.

Ren throws the pillow at his face which Lorenzo easily catches chucking down at the floor.

"Are you a girl?" Atlas asks sarcastically.

"Bummer." Theo pouts.

"You think it's safe to go back to our dorms?" Ren asks.

"Just crash here." Eli tells them.

Atlas shoves up near Ren, getting under the duvets as she was slightly cold. Eli charms the lights off while Theo gets into his bed. Lorenzo stretches out on the couch covering himself in a massive burrito blanket. It took a while for Atlas to get to sleep without a sleeping draught even though she was severely exhausted.

The next morning, they were all woken up with banging at the door. Theo groaned still tired from last night's antics. The banging continued until Eli eventually decided he was going to open the door. Pansy fiercely marched into the room and over to the bed where Ren and Atlas were still sleeping. She grabbed her wand and cast a spell causing water to splash over the girls. Ren jumps awake which causes Atlas to open her eyes.

"Pansy what the hell?" Atlas groans now freezing due to the temperature of the water.

"We were supposed to leave for Hogsmeade an hour ago, hurry up." Pansy complains.

It didn't take long for Ren and Atlas to get ready after that, not wanting to be on Pansy's bad side. They meet the group of girls in front of the castle and board the train. They all sat in a compartment together. Pansy, Millicent and Kiera sat on one side and opposite them were Ren and Atlas. Rory couldn't make it and Kaia and Aara had declined Pansy's offer on dress shopping.
