taetae's little happiness.

It was rare for him to fall asleep early, but the exhaustion from the practices he had through the day made him fall asleep almost instantly after getting cuddled up with his pillow, a habit he can't get rid of.  It felt like he fell asleep a minute ago when he was woken up by a loud 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY TAE TAE~" 

'oh no is it Morning already?!' he peeked through one eye out of curiosity. Just to find the room drowning in the dark. He could barely figure out the members, holding up a cake and jungkook was lightning the candles on it. He rubbed the sleepiness off his eyes and sat up. It's the first time for him to be woken up in the midnight to wish him a happy birthday. A warmness took over his heart as he tried not to be emotional and offered his boxy grin to the members.

"Taehyungie~ HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!" the members yelled again and sang the birthday song before the birthday boy made a wish and blew out the candles. He didn't certainly pay any attention to it as he fed jungkook the first piece of cake. Which the younger ate happily and booped his nose with some icing.

He didn't miss the scowl that sneaked into his best friend's features. At this point he couldn't clearly figure out if it's him or jungkook he was jealous over. But either way, he knew he made a mistake. He wished the sweetness of the cake to wash away the bitterness in jimin.

The members didn't waste time to dig into the cake and the little set of snacks jimin prepared. After a little whining they all agreed to watch 'always' again. A movie that neither taehyung or jimin gets tired of.
''make waaaay!" Jin hyung said as he brought the drinks he prepared.

Jimin decided it was a better idea to pull out some sheets from their beds and pile up on the couch, making it comfortable enough to get cuddled up and sleep. Everyone chuckled at the way their jin hyung almost instantly took the seat next to the leader; which didn't surprise the maknaes.

Taehyung knew from the way the younger was fidgeting with the sheets that jungkook wanted jimin's attention. But he decided he deserves the best buddy time with jimin; atleast on his birthday. He got comfortable clinging onto the latter, being the big spoon. 'there we go' taehyung thought as his best friend pats the space next to him and asks jungkook to join them. True, it was their thing to get cozy together and watch movies but Taehyung wanted to tease the younger's jealous little heart.

The boys have fallen asleep watching the movie. Taehyung being taehyung, was awake and thinking. He thought he would spend this birthday missing home and mom's dishes. But the boys have been there for him and celebrated it and made him enjoy it like his family, hell he enjoyed this night even better than he would with his family. Though jimin haven't said much, he had a feeling that the older must be responsible for half of the things that they planned. Even if he was worried for the past few days, thinking his jiminie forgot him, all these sweet actions proved his doubts wrong. 

"Is taetae awake?'' came jimin's mumble. He looked down and nodded as the answer. "You want to see the gifts??" Jimin asks as his eyes lit up with excitement. "Gifts?" Taehyung was confused. Staying up late to wish him was already a lot. He prepared gifts too? The younger nodded anyway. They made their way to the room and sat on taehyung's bed.

"I placed them under your bed. Get them out birthday boy" taehyung mimicked the music of the movie they were watching and proceeded to get the gift out. To his Surprise, there were more than one. It was 3 gift boxes. While one was cutely wrapped, which he easily guessed as jimin's.
He sat next to his best friend and teared the wrapper away. Jimin was watching the younger closely as taehyung's hands revealed a fila sneaker box.
Taehyung opened it just to reveal the sneakers he wanted so bad for past two months. Happiness was an underestimation to explain what he felt right now. He broke into a boxy grin as he hugged jimin and thanked him.

"I was gonna get it once I'm better in dancing! You got this for me already?!"

"Well you received it because i say you've gotten better" jimin pats the younger's head.
The latter smiles at it.  He always liked to receive jimin's compliments. "But what are the other gifts?!" He gawked at jimin while the older giggled. "They aren't from me taetae! I'm not that rich! Its from your family!" He was tearing up even before he could process any words. He misses his home so much but he was never vocal about it. He was so grateful for the older for being so understanding.

"I met your mom and got it all. Well it was the reason i had to abandon you when i went out. Wanted it to be a surprise!"
Taehyung chuckled. "You take care of everyone without being asked but you leave yourself out jiminie"
Jimin continued with a confused pout. "What?"

'seriously this stubborn ass!' he thought. He can't figure out if jimin was being oblivious or if he chooses to ignore the situation with jungkook at this point. Their relationship isn't going anywhere if he kept being silent. One of them has to confess so they could start the basic understanding in their relationship. He's not even sure if jungkook knows what he's getting into yet. Jimin just let him have things his way.

Before taehyung could answer him, a half asleep jungkook approached them and got snuggled up in between them. And the duo decided it was better to get some sleep before the sunrise.And the maknaes drifted to sleep just like that.

Little did jimin know, taehyung's little birthday celebration had a lot more to come.
