Isabella pov
Mom and dad?
Am I dreaming? Did she say what I think she just said?
"So? Are you my new mom and dad or not?"She stares at us with a bright smile on her face, I glance to my right to see what's his reaction,he stares at her just as surprised as I am.
Her happy face is making it hard for me to say no,I don't want to make her sad.
I clear my throat and force a smile."Well um-"
"......Yes".
Richardo answers and nods his head happily,I tilt my head and look at him with a frown.
I'm guessing I should go with it.
"Oh...S...sure...Yes we are"She raises her hands above her head letting out a happy scream.
"Thank you so much,you two are the best, I'll make sure I pray for you tonight,this is so cool oh my God"She squeals and I smile nodding my head like a robot.
Richardo shifts awkwardly in his seat while looking around the room avoiding our eyes.
"I'm going to go see where's the doctor, I'll be right back"He stands up fast and walks out,slamming the door behind him,of course he's back to being a scaredy cat,he couldn't contain himself in front of a child.
I clear my throat and look at her.
"What's your name? My name is Ariel".
"You have a beautiful name Ariel,my name's Isabella and that man was Richardo,my... Husband"I say while taking my jacket off,she looks down at my wrist and a frown forms on her face.
"You have bruises..."I pull my sleeves down covering them, Richardo and his caveman behavior at the restaurant.
"It's nothing I'm just a little clumsy"She laughs.
"It's okay, I'm clumsy too, the floor is my best friend"I chuckle and give her hand a soft squeeze.
"So you're funny too? We're going to get along nicely"She smiles at me again, while laying back on the bed yawning, I cover her with the blanket and she blinks tiredly.
"I'm sorry, I'm a little bit sleepy"She says, closing her eyes, I slowly take her small hand rubbing it in circles.
"It's okay,we can talk after you wake up, I'm going to be here".
"You promise Isabella?".
"I promise you just make sure you have sweet dreams"She gives me a small smile before falling asleep,the medication kicked in faster than I expected.
While looking down at her peacefully sleeping I realized my whole life is about to change...Me and Richardo won't be married forever and somehow we have a child to take care of.
Don't get me wrong, I absolutely adore kids and I'm happy we saved her from that sad excuse of a man but this is all happening so fast, it feels like yesterday I was living in a broken house and now I'm back with Richardo,in a mansion and I have a child...I don't know how to feel about all this.
But then again if we don't take her in and adopt her we'll have to give her away to someone else, doubt she would be safe with us, there's probably so many people after Richardo,I would never forgive him or myself if something happened to her.
I just wish Richardo and I fix our relationship before we bring her to the house, I don't want her to listen to our bickering and fighting every single day.
She deserves some peace and quiet after everything she's been through.
After I made sure she's in deep sleep, I got up and walked outside seeing Richardo walking towards the room,he lifts his head up and looks at me with a serious facial expression.
You're so confusing,I wish I could read minds for just a little bit to see what goes on in that mind of yours.
"Is she sleeping?"I nod.
"Yes,we talked for a little bit then she fell asleep...Are you okay?"He runs his hands through his hair sighing.
"I don't know".
I wrap my arms around his shoulders catching him by surprise,after a few seconds he wraps his arms around my waist putting his chin on the top of my head.
Maybe this scary giant isn't so scary after all,this is definitely a facade, his whole rude behavior is,but I don't blame him,in his world you can't show any signs of weakness or you'll be replaced,I feel a little bad for him,he can't even be himself.
"This all took me by surprise too but we got each other,we don't have to have the perfect relationship but we should try,at least for her"I say and rub his tense back in circles.
"I want that"I stop and pull away surprised.
"Really?"He nods.
"And I know how we can control our temper and avoid fighting".
"How?"I ask in curiosity.
"Well for one,you need to stop bringing up the past, it's stopping us from moving forward,I can't fix my mistakes if you mention them every single day".
He is right,I got a bit carried away a few times but it's very tough to be around someone that hurt you when you were at your lowest,I guess him wanting to make up for it is better than him not caring at all.
Ariel sniffles in her sleep and I point at the bathroom.
"Let's talk in there,come on".
We walk in the bathroom and I close the door carefully.
"And what did you say what can we do to avoid fighting? Besides not talking about things that happened in the past?".
"Well..."He smiles, placing his hands on my waist.
"We can kiss and forget about it, hug, laugh,be affectionate instead of angry"I raise my eyebrow,this is the man I fell in love with, I missed him so much.
"Only if you keep your attitude in check too,then we can work this out somehow"He nods slowly.
"Can I kiss my wife now? I haven't done it in awhile".
I wrap my arms around his neck and pull him in a kiss.
He slides his hands lower and I pull away."We're in the hospital, there's a child on the other side of this door".
"I need to express my love for you in a deeper way, literally deeper way...Just for a bit amorcita,I missed you so much and I missed the way you would make me feel,in fact I think I love you even more now".
"Is that so?"I plant a small kiss on his cheek.
"Why are you more in love with me now?".
"I didn't get a chance to admire you before,now that I'm doing it I'm realizing that I love you more than I should,I woke actually start a family with you,I know our marriage thing was unexpected but I have no regrets".
