*no one's POV*
The sun shone brightly through the windows of the medhut, signaling that morning had come. After your short conversation about Thomas, you had fallen asleep, but Minho stayed with you all night just like he promised. He decided to take the day off from the maze in order to make sure you were alright. Of course he didn't have official ruling from Alby that it was allowed, but he was in the slammer at the moment so it didn't matter.Minho had woken up a little bit before you. He looked over and saw you laying peacefully in your bed. Your once dark veins were back to normal, and you looked back to your healthy self. He'd assumed that the effects of the serum had worn off, so he decided to untie your hands.
He sat back in his chair, and smiled to himself as he observed you features. You looked so peaceful, so beautiful. He felt his heart flutter, as he'd never thought of you this way. Normally he would've try to push these types of feelings away, or suppress them like he'd done before, but this time he didn't. After the scare that he had the other day in the maze, he realized the at he could've lost you.
He was devastated of course, but he realized he wasn't so distraught over this because he'd almost lost his best friend, but because he'd almost lost the girl he was so in love with. It took a near death experience for Minho to come to terms with this feelings. A near death experience that was his fault.
His smile soon faded, turning into a frown, and before he knew it, tears were falling. He sniffled, causing you to stir in your sleep and start to wake up.
You squinted your eyes from the bright sun, then turned your focus to the point of noise beside you. You cocked your head to the side, sitting up as you noticed tears on Minho's cheeks.
"Minho? Are you crying? What's wrong?" You asked worriedly.
"N-nothing." He said, shaking his head as more tears fell. You quickly reached both your hands to either side of his face, wiping his tears with your thumbs."Minho, I've known you for as long as I can remember, and I've only ever see you cry once. I know you don't cry over nothing. So what is it?" You asked. He tried pulling himself together to talk, but the moment he tried to speak, the only thing that came out were sobs.
"Come here." You said pulling him into your embrace. He buried his face in the crook of your neck, and you felt a few hot tears fall on your collar bone. You held him tightly, occasionally rubbing his back and whispering comforting words in his ear until he calmed down.
"I'm sorry." Minho mumbled against your skin.
"Sorry? For what?"
"For letting you get stung and getting us stuck in the maze. If I had just been there for you and next to you instead of behind you, I could've prevented it. I could've kept you from getting hurt and going through all that pain." He said. You lifted his head off of your shoulder so he would look at you.
"Minho, none of what happened to me was your fault. Ok?"
"But-"
"It's not your fault. It's quite the opposite actually. I probably wouldn't be alive right now if it wasn't for you. You got me back here to the glade so I could get the serum, and now look, I'm fine." You said motioning to yourself. "So pleaseeee don't keep beating yourself up about this, because I hate seeing you sad."Minho gave you a soft smile and nodded, wiping the remaining tears away. It was then that you'd noticed a dark bruise on his cheek bone.
"What happened to your face?"
"Wow. I mean I know you don't think I'm the best looking glader here, but ouch. That was harsh." Minho replied sarcastically. Yep he was back to his normal self now.
"That's not want I mean shuck face. You have a bruise on your cheek. What's it from?"
"Oh that! No it's nothing. I'm fine, no big deal."
"You really need to stop trying to lie to me today, because you aren't very good at it." You said crossing your arms. Minho sighed.
"It's not that serious y/n, really. It was just one punch-"
"One what?! Someone hit you?! Why?!" You yelled, angry that someone hit Minho.
"He was just mad that you got stung when I was supposed to protect you." He said looking at the ground. You started getting even more angry now, hearing that someone else blamed Minho for what happened too.
"Who?" You questioned. No answer. "Who!"
"Who do you think?" He replied looking back at you. The moment he said that, you already knew it was Alby."That piece of klunk." You stood up angrily and stormed towards the door, but not before Minho grabbed your hand to stop you.
"Hey! Can you chill out? I said it wasn't that serious."
"You want me to chill out? Seriously?! Look Minho, you know me better than anyone else here. Therefore, you already know I'm not gonna let anybody get away with punching my best friend in the face, even if it is my own slinthead brother."
The fact that you'd called Minho your "best friend" kinda hurt him a little. Like you'd just friend zoned him on the spot, but he chose to ignore it, because now was not the time.
"Y/n I appreciate you wanting to stand up for me, but he's already in the slammer, and I don't need you to end up in there too. So maybe just wait a little bit so you can calm down, then you can go yell at him all you want. Deal?" Minho said trying to compromise.
"The last time I made a deal with you, you tried to get me to kiss you. But since the terms on this one seem to be different, I guess I agree."
Minho reddened slightly, as he'd completely forgotten about that bet you two made, but didn't fail to come back with a smart remark.
"You still took that deal didn't you?" He smirked.
"Only 'cause I knew I was gonna win." You turned around once again to walk out the door, but not before saying one last thing.
"But don't worry, if you're lucky, you might still get that kiss one day." You said with a wink. You shut the door behind you, leaving Minho standing completely dumbfounded and blushing in the middle of the medhut.
