Ever since Tris died I had been trying my hardest to cope. I was trying my hardest to be strong. But there wasn't enough strength in the world to deal with this. It was impossible to forget about her, no matter how hard I tried. Tris was unforgetable. Now I'm just a shell, an empty shell. Tris was a spark of hope in my soul. And now there is only darkness. I had told her once that she was just a litte girl trying to throw her life away. But she was so much more than that. She was selfless. She was brave. And now she's dead. Well, then Caleb came knocking at my door.

"Four! Four! Open up!" A familiar voice screamed and pounded on my door. I sat up groggily in bed and glanced at the clock. It was only 6:00! I was never really a morning person, but I was especially upset about this one. I had never asked for a wake-up call. And defidently not one from Caleb. Slowly, I slipped into a pair of denim jeans and a gray t-shirt with a pair of black boots. I took my time on purpose just to bug the crap out of Caleb. When I finally got out of my bedroom, my mother was sitting at the coffee table. "Good morning, mother." I said as I calmly poured myself a cup of coffee that she had apparently made, still ignoring Caleb. She had finally found an apartment, but needed a place to crash until it was set up.

"Good morning." She replied. Then, taking a sip of her own coffee, she added, " I think someone is here to see you." I sighed as I walked towards the door and opened it up. I found Caleb with his foot in the air, trying to kick the door open, apparently. I quickly side-stepped it. Since his foot never made contact, and he had to much momentum to stop, he fell forwards, hard, and face-planted on my floor. He quickly got back up, stood straight, and smoothed out his shirt. I couldn't help the smile that spread across my face. Evelyn giggled, then put her hand over her mouth and walked quickly out of the room, probably to laugh some more. I, on the other hand, didn't bother to hide the laughter that bubbled up inside me.

"That's what you get for waking me up this early! What the heck are you doing here anyways?" I asked, once again annoyed. He seemed to remember what he came here for. "Come with me to the lab," he said, excited. "There's something you need to see." Suddenly interested, I grabbed my coat and stepped out into the chilly morning air.
