Christina dragged me to her room and sat me on her bed, then rummaged through her closet. "So," she said as she searched for something that would fit me. "How are you and Tobias doing?"
I looked at the ring and smiled to myself. "Great."
She glanced up and saw me fiddling with the ring. "Oh my gosh. What is that?"
I looked up, eyes wide, sure I looked like a deer in headlights. Christina stared at my finger and crept forward slowly while I inched back.
"What is that?" she repeated. I gulped as she stared down the ring. "Tobias...proposed."
She attacked me, while I squealed and dove across the bed. She grabbed my ankle and dragged me back, grabbing at my hand while I struggled. She finally caught it, and held it up. I flinched as she screamed.
Tobias
I heard a few thumps and squeals from Christina's room, and then a blood-curdling scream. I jumped off the couch and sprinted to her room and slammed the door open.Tris and Christina were both on the bed, with Christina grabbing at Tris' hand and Tris struggling to keep it out of her reach. I just stood, paralyzed in the hallway as the girls wrestled.
Then I remembered the ring. Christina must've seen it. Uh-oh, I thought. Poor Tris.
Finally, I put my fingers in my mouth and whistled loudly to get their attention. They both froze, Tris' hand in the air and both Christina's hands just below it, reaching for hers.
She used Tris' momentary pause to grab her wrist and yank it down, then dragged her by it until she reached me. She held up her hand, with Tris (thankfully) still attached to it, though she was on the ground, while Christina was standing with a wild look in her eye.
"You did this?" she asked. I nodded, scared. She punched me in the shoulder—hard. I rubbed my shoulder. "Ow."
"Why didn't you tell me?" she growled, throwing Tris' wrist to the ground and yanking her up by her arm.
Tris stood, bewildered. "I was gonna tell you—"
"Shush. No excuses."
"We didn't get a chance to—"
Suddenly Christina's mood changed. She turned and hugged Tris, then started bouncing up and down and squealing. "You're getting married."
Tris laughed nervously, and I just stared at Christina in confusion. Tris took only a moment to recover, then she started squealing and jumping with Christina. This was the girliest I had ever seen her.
I just stared and thought, I'll never understand them.
Yay it's a little longer! I feel so terrible because I post the shortest chapters and take the longest time to update and you guys are still so awesome. 💚
So I have a contest idea. I'm gonna hold a contest for the summary of this book. If you want to enter, just PM me your entry and I will give you credit. The winner's entry will be the summary for this book, but please don't be offended if you don't win I will probably put everyone's entries in an update at least.
The ending for this contest is November 15, 2015. Good luck!
