Present

Byeol, with an oven mitten on one hand, carefully took the cover of the pot. Immediately, the aroma of spicy ramen filled her nostrils. She smiled to herself proudly and praised herself for being a great cook.

She was oblivious of the footsteps approaching from behind her but wasn't surprised when she felt the arms of her beloved around her, embracing her petite form from behind.

"That smells really nice," Yoongi commented, his voice still raspy, a sign that he had just woken up from a deep slumber.

"You're awake. Did I make so much noise down here that I woke you up? I'm sorry if I did so." Byeol pouted as she placed the cover back and turned off the stove.

With Yoongi, still behind her, they waddled around the kitchen.

"No, of course not, my love." Byeol slightly shuddered at the nickname which fortunately came unnoticed to Yoongi. "In fact, I woke up pretty good today because the moment I opened my eyes, the scent of delicious ramen filled my nose and immediately, I got hungry."

A heavenly sound was emitted by the female, her laugh resonating throughout the whole house. Yoongi's heart, certainly, fluttered for he found her laugh, even her smile, melodious to his eyes and ears.

Byeol patted his hands that were around her waist. "If you really are hungry, you'll have to let me go so that I can fetch the ramen."

The male whined in defeat as he unlatched his arms around her with a pout, to which Byeol found adorable that she cracked a grin at him.

Yoongi, nonetheless, took a seat on the dining table and propped his elbows on top, placing his chin on his palms as he constantly admired his wife walking around the kitchen to prepare their brunch.

Yoongi felt so lucky to have her. To have her all his.

"I promise I'll be back early tonight, starshine." He pressed a chaste kiss on Byeol's forehead.

The couple was in the middle of watching Netflix and chilling when an emergency call came from Yoongi's work. Though the female was utterly disappointed, she tried her best not to show it. She didn't want her husband to ditch the emergency just because of her loneliness. Byeol absolutely understood his situation and she wanted to show her support.

The female let out a small smile. "It's okay, Yoongi. I understand, you don't have to worry about me," she assured him. "Just make sure you're not stressing yourself out too much. Take breaks in between as well, alright?"

"Of course." He caressed her hair lovingly before leaning in to catch her lips in his for a quick soft kiss.

Byeol watched him leave. From the moment he pulled out their car from the driveway and disappearing from her sight. She wasn't sure if the male saw her but she waved at the window anyway, just to let him know that she was just there. That she would be waiting for him.

Though the movie was still playing on the screen of their flat screen television, the house seemed quiet when Yoongi wasn't around. Don't get her wrong, she loved the quietness but sometimes, she felt like there was something missing. And indeed there was because everything was incomplete without the love of her life.

Byeol broke herself out of her thoughts and waddled to the couch, going back to her position. But then she realized that Yoongi wasn't there beside her to lend his shoulder and she laughed to herself for that. Once she was settled in a comfortable position, she continued to watch the movie.

Almost halfway through, she began to feel drowsy, the sleepiness taking over. She tried to hold it in but her senses seemed to be working on their own and pushed her further into unconsciousness.

Abandoning the thought of staying awake, she fell deep into a peaceful slumber of memories.
