Present
Byeol stared at the dry cooked steak resting on the plate, her eyes boring on it with an empty gaze. The steak was so dry that she found herself relating herself to it. Cold and empty. The wall clock from the living room ticked slowly and she felt that an hour had passed already—given the very unappealing steak before her.
Her pale hand hovered above the fork before she finally began to eat slowly without missing to let out a stressed sigh from her lips.
She was home alone again.
Somehow, nothing came on her mind except the fact that she was feeling lonely again. It seemed that way almost everyday lately. Maybe it was because of the eerie silence that hung througout the whole house or the spark and liveliness that was there in the beginning was now gone.
Such lonely thoughts dreaded her mind again as she ate her steak and before she knew it, she was already done eating.
It had been weeks since she last went to the publishing company and also weeks since she last saw her older sister. After their last encounter, she couldn't bring herself to go there despite the comforting words she heard from Jimin.
Jimin was a good friend, she thought. He was like a breath of fresh air that was just right there by her side whenever she needed someone to talk to. He was like an angel sent from above to guide her. Byeol felt a pinch of guilt in her heart because she felt that all she did was rant to Jimin and actually not be a good friend to him. It was kind of eating her alive little by little.
Then there was Yoongi.
The man she never thought she'd fall in love with. But lately, his absence was present almost everyday though he still tried his best to make up the time he missed.
That wasn't all. There was something that bothered Byeol so much. Something was gnawing at her chest and she couldn't decipher what it was. All she knew was that if Yoongi was there, she felt good.
It was different from Jimin.
Byeol tugged at her hair in frustration. Obviously, her unhealthy thoughts were slowly consuming her. She wanted to forget all of her problems at the moment but her husband wasn't there at the moment to do that. She couldn't relieve from the huge stress she was feeling so she had no choice but to improvise.
So, after washing the dishes, she locked herself into the study room and began to write away.

"Moon Bora."
The female didn't look up to see the source of her voice since she knew who it was. Letting out a deep sigh, she continued to swirl the glass of wine in her hand, enjoying the scent and the pattern it made when swirled.
"Are you seriously going to ignore me?" The male said in a baritone voice, in hopes to catch the girl's attention as he leaned against the doorway of her condo.
Only a humming sound greeted him. Bora was humming a soft tune to herself as she pretended to be oblivious of Taehyung's presence.
He was left without any choice but to march inside her condo. As the door closed with a click, Taehyung walked towards her and stopped when he was right in front of her.
He squatted down to her eye-level, a concerned expression etched across his sculpted face.
"Bora, I know you're hurting but revenge will only make things worse," he started. Even though the female's attention was still focused on her wine, he continued to speak. "Let's say you get your revenge. But do you think you'll be happy after that? Do you think you'll gain the satisfaction of seeing your sister suffering?"
The humming stopped and the silence accompanied the whirring sound of the air conditioner.
"I will admit it that I agreed to what you want because of the money but as time passed by, I realized... this was wrong. What I'm doing is wrong. And I only realized that when you revealed that she was your sister." Taehyung let out a frustrated sigh.
"Shouldn't have then," Bora muttered and Taehyung didn't fail to catch it.
He frowned. "I would've still realized it anyway. But it would only take quite awhile. So I want to thank you for opening my eyes."
Bora scoffed. "Why are you even here?"
She finally met his gaze before resuming, "Are you here to guilt trip me? Are you telling me that I'm the most evil person you've ever met—"
"I want to help you, Bora," he cut her off.
"What?" she whispered.
"Let me heal you, Bora. Let me in and I'll help you fix you."
The woman bursted into tears, making Taehyung grab the glass from her hands before she could spill it. He placed it on the table before engulfing the weeping girl in a hug.
His strongs arm held her shaking form as he rubbed her back in a soothing manner. She continued to cry until there were no more tears left.
When they pulled away, he saw how her eyes were puffy and red. He delicately wiped her tears away as she sniffled.
"W-Why are you doing this, Taehyung?" Her voice came out in a broken whisper.
His hand rested on her cheek. "Sometimes, all we need is a little bit of care and love."
