Present
Time ticked by ever so slowly as Byeol fully immersed herself into writing. The only sounds that could be heard were the scratches of a pencil on paper and the crickets chirping through the hazy night. Only the small light of her lamp was illuminating her table, leaving out everything else so that her focus was only on the paper.
For some reason, she didn't feel like sleeping beside Yoongi that night. An unfamiliar feeling emerged in Byeol's chest. So to kill time, she decided to write in her study room.
Suddenly, memories from three years ago flooded her mind. The time when the two of them did a house-hunting, the very house they were living in right now. When they first moved in, everything was so welcoming like a breeze of fresh air kissing their cheeks and enveloping them in a warm welcome embrace.
Two years later later, they got married and the house felt more of like a home than a foreign structure, as if they have also connected deeper into the house, a strong trust built between the three.
But now, Byeol felt peculiar. Lately, she had been finding herself feeling lonely in silence. The quietness and darkness inside their house felt cold to her.
She only felt everything was back to normal whenever Yoongi comes home and they both spend quality time together in giggles and cuddles. Though, even that, she felt it and him and drifting away.
Byeol slammed her pencil down in irritation, starting to tug her hair in frustration, elbows propped on her desk. The unhealthy and unpleasing thoughts were making her go angry and crazy.
Realizing that it was too late, she switched the lampshade off, pushed her chair back and stood up.
After lazily walking across the room to open the door to exit, she found herself face to face with a sleepy Yoongi, who seemed to had gotten up from bed, his hair tousled and eyes scrunched.
"Yoongi?" She closed the door behind her then placed her hands on Yoongi's shoulders. "Are you okay? Did I wake you? I'm sorry," she murmured.
He shook his head. "I miss you," he replied. "The bed felt empty without you beside me. It's so late, why didn't you go to bed yet?"
"I was..." she trailed off.
The male immediately understood then gently, he took her hand and led them both towards their bedroom wordlessly.
Yoongi tucked his beloved in bed, brushing away the strands of hair away from her face then he positioned himself beside her, wrapping an arm around her waist, instantly closing his eyes to go back to sleep.
Byeol admired him althroughout and she can't help but involuntarily release a giggle, causing the man to open one eye. "Hm?" his baritone voice vibrated. "Why the laugh, starshine?"
"Nothing," she mumbled. "It's just...no goodnight kiss?" She pouted.
Letting out a gummy smile, Yoongi leaned down to press his lips on Byeol's forehead, lingering for a bit longer before withdrawing, making a soft pop sound.
The two cuddled in each other's arms until they fell into a peaceful yet unsettling slumber.

When the next morning came, Byeol woke up to the empty space beside her. The place where Yoongi was once and in which she fell asleep in his arms was now the rest of the long blanket and a pillow.
Byeol was about to sigh out loudly in disappointment when she heard faint sounds of clinking and muffled voices downstairs. Lazily getting up from bed and fixing the covers, she dragged herself towards the bathroom to brush her teeth.
Then she proceeded to take a nice hot shower, humming soft tunes to herself in the process. Slipping on to a comfy sweater and a pair of sweatpants, she made her way outside the bedroom without bothering to dry her hair due to laziness and fatigued from last night's immersed writing.
The sound of the voices grew louder and when she stepped into the dining room, she found Yoongi having a deep and serious conversation with someone on a video call.
Must be his colleague. Byeol thought to herself.
A cup of coffee was situated just beside the laptop, a steamy small smoke seeping above, a sign that it was just recently made.
Byeol made her way around to the kitchen. Yoongi's eyes fell on her form while he was talking.
"...okay. Okay, got it. I'll talk to you later again, alright? Okay, bye for now."
Byeol was busy making her own cup of coffee while Yoongi ended the call. Not looking at him, she heard the sound of the chair screeching then next a series of footsteps. When she reached out for a teaspoon to mix the sugar in her coffee, she felt a warm presence behind her. Yoongi hugged her from behind, his arms snaking around her waist, his chin resting on her shoulder as he inhaled her fresh scent, and his breath lightly fanned the side of his wife's face.
She couldn't help but let out a soft smile. "Why so touchy, Yoongi?"
She felt him pout. "I just want to greet my lovely wife a good morning. Is that so touchy?"
Byeol let out a melodious laugh, music to the former's ears. After taking a sip of her coffee, she attempted to turn around to walk but obviously, Yoongi's weight and hold on her was preventing her from doing so.
"Mm?" she whined. "I can't walk, Yoongi. Come on, let go."
He shook his head gently from side to side, chin not leaving her shoulder.
Byeol unintentionally snorted then attempted one more time. She successfully turned around with the mug in her hands although Yoongi's grip on her still didn't leave. Without any choice, they both ended up waddling towards the dining table and Byeol didn't miss to let out soft giggles at how clingy her husband was.
"Okay, time's up, boo," she cooed, patting his arm around her waist. "Aren't you gonna let me sit down and have my coffee?" She questioned with a gentle playful tone in her voice, turning her head slightly to the side in hopes to get a glimpse of Yoongi's pouty face.
The man didn't respond with words but instead placed a soft and affectionate kiss on his lover's neck, catching the latter off-guard, her eyes widening.
"I just wanted to say thank you and I'm sorry," he mumbled, his voice an octave lower. Byeol shuddered slightly as she felt his chest vibrating against her back.
"For what, Yoongi? You don't have to say that. After all, I love you," she whispered.
"I just suddenly felt the need to say that." Yoongi chuckled slightly. "I love you too, Byeol."
"I truly love you, my dazzling starshine."
