Overrated (Remade)

Chapter 12

Gaara felt like he had runied everything with Lee, depsite Temari telling Gaara that lee would still be his friends even with the rejection floating amongst the friendship.

   "That's the problem Temari...I don't know if I like him back...."

   "Well...tell me what you feel about him- when he's around"

This was already embarrassing for Gaara. He didn't want to explain to Temari what he felt about Lee. Even IF she may have been really good at feelings and emotional instability.

    "Well....I guess. Happy?"

   "Well I know that dipshit. Ever since Lee's come around you've been acting different" she said with a half smile. "it's a good thing...I hadn't seen you act the way you have these past weeks in years..."

Gaara looked at Temari. "That's it. That's how I feel. I feel motivated, I feel like becoming a better person for...him"

Temari laughed. "hah. You like him...but it's alright to not want to admit it to yourself Gaara"

Gaara groaned. Already frustrated with the situation. "even if I did acknowledge it...it's too late..."

  "It's never 'too late' with Lee. He's the most paitent and understanding guy I know. If you just talk it out with him-in person- im sure you'll figure somthing out"

   Gaara nodded. "thanks Temari...I appreciate it. I'll message him and ask to meet up and talk"

Temari laughed her loud hyena laugh. "that's my little brother!"

Gaara smiled and looked at his now unlocked phone.

Temari had ruffled his hair to a messy and tangly mess and left the room, leaving Gaara to figure out how to type his message to Lee.

  

"Hey Lee...I wanted to know if you would meet up with me sometime...I thought about it and I'd really like to talk and clear somthings up ~ Gaara"

Gaara sighed and hoped the message was good enough. He turned off his light and attempted to get a good night's sleep but while he did try, he found it difficult to fall asleep with the unanswered message sitting on his phone.

By morning there was no message back from Lee. Gaara assumed the worst and that lee was upset with him.

  "Hey Temari..."

  "Morning kid! What'd lee say?"

  "He...didn't respond"

Temari who was already trying to settle her anger with lee down was fuming. Her face a pale red and she was standing next to the counters, hand placed on her hip looking like an evil soccer mom.

   "Excuse me...??"

Gaara frowned. He wanted to cry but he wouldn't allow himself to do it. He wouldn't allow himself to be vulnerable in front of his sister and make lee's situation worse.

   "He's a busy man...maybe he just didn't have time" Gaara shot the idea.

Temari sighed. Realizing that somtimes she forgot lee was always busy. With records and recording. She forgot he was a music artist half the time. Getting angry when he was late to some things or never replied to a message on time but never remembering he just simply couldn't.

  "Tentens downstairs in our room taking a phone call at the moment. Go ask her."

Gaara nodded trudding to Temari's bedroom on the opposite side of his own. He slowly opened the door with a similar creak.

  "Hey Tenten- Temari wanted me to ask you if you knew why lee wasn't responding to my texts..."

Tenten wasn't facing Gaara and she wasn't making a sound either. Which was unlike her.

   "Tenten..?"

Her phone was placed next to her hand which was trembling. The screen lighting up repeatedly.

   "What's going on? Are you alright?" Gaara walked to her side and placed his hands on her shoulders. He then relized she was crying. Biting her lip attempting to hold in her sobs and she was red in the face.

It reminded Gaara of how angry Temari was. The way her own face turned red. 

   "It's .." she attempted to get out. "Lee"

"What happened is he alright? Did he have to go on a long business trip??" That was Gaaras' worst fear at the moment. He feared Lee would have go to somewhere far away for a while and forgot all about Gaara.

  "No....he..." She chocked. "he's in the hospital..."

Suddenly, a new worst fear was added to Gaaras' list.

(Another short chapter 😫🤲 sorry but the next one will be longer. I just love cliffhangers and this was the perfect opportunity to do so)
