Overrated (Remade)

Chapter 16

"Lee....I'm really glad you were paitent with me" gaara mumbled.

"Of course Gaara! Anything for you!"

Gaara looked at lee. The longing to be in his arms hurt him more than anything.

"Ah yeah- I suppose our first .. 'date' is here isn't it" Gaara smiled.

Lee, embarassed, spoke up quickly. "OH- NO NO- THIS ISN'T A DATE UNLESS YOU REALLY WANT IT TO BE BUT I WAS JUST HOPING WE COULD SPEND IT SOMEWHERE NICE UH- ERM-" he sighed.

"I was hoping it could be more special..?" He questioned his own words and look away from Gaara.

Gaara chuckled. "I think this will be somthing I remember a lot more than some coffee date"

Lee wasn't sure if that was a insult or compliment. He was definitely planning on a reastruant date but did Gaara think the date at his own home was better? Lee had a hard time wrapping his mind around the concept of Gaara and 'dates'.

"Well if you think a date here- is better than this can 100% be a date!"

Gaara smiled. He was happy Lee considered the recovery a date. He was glad lee and himself were finding joy in a really tough spot. Lee was surely frustrated with his injurys. He wasn't aloud to walk and could barely even move his right arm. He was an active person, never able to sit down and just do somthing. He had to be moving or else he'd get all weird and energetic. With these injurys he wouldn't be doing anything physical for a long time. Which made gaara worry for his mental health.

Lee had always seemed like a clean slate. A clean mind, and physically and mentally happy. This would ruin all of that.

"Are you hungry" Gaara spoke up.

Lee thought for a moment. "Not really. Are you? I feel like we should just order food" he sighed. This wasn't like him but suddenly he didn't have the strength to cook or even watch someone else cook for him. He didn't know how to explain that to Gaara but Garaa got the memo, and agreed.

He just wasn't himself anymore. He felt so pulled away from the world that even the slightest things could send him into a crying fit. That's why Gaara tried to restrict the internet use from Lee. Every news site and video out there was on about the injury. It must of sucked knowing people where fighting over weither you deserved to get injured or not. People would be sending prayers others would he sending death threats. Lee didn't seem to mind though. Which gaara found quite infuriating.

If it were him in lee's position he'd be fighting back with the news and the accounts spreading false rumors.

"So, are you alright?" Gaara asked.

Lee nodded. Smiling

"You seem off..." He sighed

Lee laughed lightly. Just enough so it wouldn't hurt. "I am alright, I promise!"

Gaara looked away from lee. "Yeah...ok"
