"What do you mean by that Lee??"

"It is nothing Tenten. Just forget it"

While Tenten considered the offer- thinking maybe her friend just needed some space- she declined. She'd known lee her whole life. They and Neji were best friends. They knew everything about each other. Embarrassing to serious. Disgusting to clean.

Lee had never talked about feelings. Or how he felt in general. He never talked about his past or his old schools. He only talked about the good things. His training, his songwriting, his next performances.

So it shocked Tenten when lee had said such things to her. Things she never thought he'd say.

Of course, invalidating him wasn't her goal yet she found it almost difficult to believe that lee was even capable of feeling sadness.

Of course, she didn't mean that in a harsh way. She'd still check up on him occasionally. She just never got a negative response. Which made her brain think these things. lee can be sad, lee can be hurt or mad. He's a human just like Everyone else yet it felt so weird for Tenten to think about.

It felt so weird thinking that her best friend would be dealing with such issues. Of course, there was Neji, and Tenten was able to help him but that's because Neji was always a Debbie-downer. Someone who talked about issues when needed and when supposed to be present but never when unwanted or not asked for.

Lee had never spoken of such things. And In a way lee was right. He and Neji are nothing alike.

"No! You just told me you wished you would have died!"

"I said no such thing" lee huffed.

"You did! You told me! Wishing a life or death surgery failed- means wishing you were dead lee!".

Lee looked away. He wasn't able to stand looking at her. She was his best friend. He couldn't even begin to imagine how overwhelmed she was feeling. With his injuries and his medical records popping back up, and now this.

"Tenten I want you to know that it genuinely was in the heat of the moment- I would never wish I was dead. Especially with all the awesome people devoting their time to helping me" he took a deep breath.

"I would never not want Gaara here. I was just stressed- I was thinking about a dream I had.  So no worries! Only a bit stressed" lee smiled at Tenten.

Her worry melted away and she slouched slightly. "thank God lee- well if you're stressed why don't you ask Gaara to go to the park with you. Sit on a bench or something"

Lee smiled at tentens gesture and input on a somewhat date with Gaara.

"That is sweet of you Tenten but I think I will wait until tomorrow to go with Gaara. I may just go alone for now"

Tenten frowned again. "is there something going on between you two- I mean besides the dating stuff...?"

Lee shook his head. "nope. I just think Gaara deserves a break. He has been helping a lot Tenten"

Tenten smiled softly. "that's true. That's also very considerate of you"

Lee nodded.

"Well I'll let you go now- I'll probably be gone when you get back, k?"

Lee nodded and thanked Tenten for helping him. He stood up putting pressure on his right side to avoid hurting the left side.

On his way to the park, he got stares. No one said anything. That was the best part about living in a quiet, self-contained neighborhood. While- before he got injured he quite hated the silence and awkwardness. He loves the chattiness of other places but, here? It was boring. Now though, being able to walk out of his house without getting the paparazzi on your tail was an amazing gift that he wished more people had. Of course, no one would be expecting a celebrity to be living in a one-story apartment complex in a small neighborhood.
