The buzzer on the doors sounds and the guard opens the door for her. She glances around at the intimidating faces that stare her down. She lowers her gaze and walks towards the interrogation room. She stops at the door and the same buzzer noise goes off. The guard opens the door again and she sits down in the cold metal chair. She sits patiently until the door buzzes again.

She watches as the familiar face walks into the room, chains on their wrists and ankles. Their face is covered with a kind of human muzzle and their hair is frizzy and untamed. She eyes them down as the guard sits the inmate down in front of her. The guards take off their mouth covering and steps back.

"Thank you boys, now please leave me and my visitor be." They say. They listen to them and leave the room.

"How do you get them to do that?"

"Rule number one of being in prison, make sure you have connections before you're locked up." They say as they lean in. She sets her arms on the table and crosses her arms.

"How have you been?" She asks.

"Peachy. I love the locked up life." They say with a sarcastic smile. "What about you? Anything... interesting happen lately?"

Their expression changes at the question. She shifts in her seat and drags her arms off of the cold table.

"Come on, don't tell me you're nervous now. It's too late to back out." They say.

"I know." She says. She swallows and quickly glances over. She takes a deep breath and leans back onto the table. "I've been watching her for over a year now. The plan is going smoothly, that's why I came here."

"And the first victim?" They ask.

"Dead. Along with the second."

"Good girl. You're working fast, keep that up." They say. "But remember, don't get too excited. If we want this to work we have to make sure every step goes exactly the way we planned."

"I understand." She says.

"And you know what this means. Two more victims and then the fun begins." They say with a playful smile.

"Yeah. But how do you know she'll be put on the case?"

"Just trust me. If what you've reported to me is true, this plan in fool proof."

She looks down at her hands and twiddles her thumbs. She knows she has to do this for them, but a small part of her questions some of the plan. They grab her hand and pull her closer.

"Listen, just trust me. I promise once we finish this I'll get out of here and we'll run away. Just stick to the plan and I promise to protect you."

That makes her feel a lot better. She squeezes their hand and smiles at them.

"Ok. You should go. I have another meeting after this and they're never late." They say.

"Oh- ok. I'll be back soon."

"I can't wait." They say. She stands up and walks towards the door.

"Oh, and sweetie?" They say. She looks back. "Thank you for doing this. Not only for me, but for us."

She smiles again and walks out of the room once the guards let her out. She strides out of the building not scared or intimidated, but full of determination and drive.

She has to do this.

She will do this.
