Break In The Case

Once you wake up and get ready you decide you want to visit the team again. After your time of reconnecting with Spencer two nights ago you woke up and he was gone. It made you sad that there wasn't a goodbye kiss or note, nothing. You walk into the kitchen and unplug your phone from it's charger. You scroll through your contacts and find Spencer's name. It rings for a little bit, but luckily he answers.

"Hello?"

"Hey lover boy." You say with a smile.

"Hi. What are you doing?"

"Nothing, I'm at home. I was wondering if it would be ok for me to come visit again."

"I would love you too, but we're at the DC police department right now. When we get back I can call you though."

You get a small feeling of disappointment, but then a familiar deep voice sounds muffled on his end.

"What? Oh, ok." Says Spencer. You wait for him to say something else.

"That was Hotch, he wants to know if you can come here and help with the case."

That disappointment quickly turns into excitement. "Yeah, of course! I'll be there in fifteen to twenty minutes."

"Ok, I can't wait to see you. I love you, drive safe." He says.

"I love you too."

You arrive at the police station not long after full of excitement and ideas. You really enjoy working on cases with the team and you can't wait to help them out. JJ is the first person to see you arrive.

"Great, you're here." She says. She gives you a quick hug and then starts walking towards the back of the station. "The team is back here, I'll introduce you to some of the police officers."

You two walk into a large room with desks and busy law enforcement. People are pacing around the room with files, evidence, and photos. To the left is a smaller room with a big whiteboard. That's where the team is, Spencer staring at the board with intense concentration.

"Chief Bishop, this is Dr. y/n Reid. Shes going to be helping us on the case." Says JJ to a taller man who approached you.

"Reid? Are you related to Doctor Spencer Reid?" He asks.

"Yes, I'm his wife." You say.

"It must be nice to be able to work on these things with someone you love." He says with a smile which you return.

"Yeah, I guess so."

"JJ, y/n." Yells Hotch from the conference room. You two walk into the room and you wave to everyone. You sit next to Spencer and he holds your hand when you sit down which makes you smile.

"Alright team, let's bring y/n up to speed." Says Hotch as he sits back down.

"We've profiled that the unsub is a woman." Says Derek. "And after you noticed that Josie knew the unsub Garcia did some digging. Turns out the victims all had something in common."

"Yes, and that thing was that they all took classes at William and Mary at some point in time." Says Penelope.

You inhale a little bit at the discovery. "Oh wow. That's pretty specific." You say.

"Yeah. Very spooky." Says Penelope. You look away and take a deep breath.

"Hey, are you ok?" Asks Spencer. "You don't have to be here if you don't want to."

"No no, I'm fine. I'm just shocked is all." You say. He nods and turns back towards the board.

"We haven't found any common human connections between the victims which means we have to think about the kills being random." Chimes in Emily.
