The Plan

"Get comfortable honey, it's a lot." Whispers Penelope. She hands you a cup of tea and sits in the chair next to JJ. Hotch is standing in front of the room to prepare telling you about what the hell is going on.

"Are we all ready?" He asks. Everyone nods and you take a deep breath. Spencer grabs your hand and squeezes it tight to comfort you.

"Let's start with how you were framed." Says Hotch. "It will surprise you but I won't sugarcoat it. Ever since you met Spencer, Diane Donovan, who's real name is Mary was stalking you."

You inhale sharply. Spencer starts to rub the back of your hand to calm you down.

"It started the day you met Spencer at William and Mary. Mary was a student at the lesson you taught and that's when it all started. She watched your every move and learned as much as she could about you. Your work schedule, close friends and family, and your daily routines." Continues Hotch. "Overtime she would take information to Cat in prison. Cat was using her as a partner."

"How long was she stalking me?" You ask. Hotch keeps eye contact but takes a second to answer.

"Almost a year and a half." He says. You nod slightly so you don't seem too panicked. But on the inside you start to freak out. Penelope was right, this is a lot. And from what you've heard they're just getting started.

"After gathering as much intel on you as they could Cat and Mary set their plan into motion." Starts David. "They had to make the crimes look as connected to you as possible, so they chose victims from the lesson and locations that are personal to you. They painted her nails the same color as yours and made sure the security cameras got it. They even stole some of your hair from your hair salon to plant at the scene."

"From there all they had to do was wait until the police caught on. They arrested you and waited for the trial to be over, knowing that you would be arrested. The evidence was enough to frame you." Says Emily. "Once you were in prison Cat and the warden, who was also a part of it, sent Mary inside. They changed her name to Diane Donovan as a taunt but she wasn't actually convicted for any crimes."

"How was the name a taunt?" You ask.

"Maeve's last name was Donovan and her killers name was Diane." Says Spencer. You look up at him and grip his hand tighter.

"Before we tell you the rest it's important that you know all of this wasn't really an attack against you. This was all to get at Spencer." Says Hotch.

"Why should that make me feel better?" You ask.

"Because if you were to think Cat Addams is your enemy you wouldn't get a night of sleep." He says. You nod and feel your heart start to race more but you hide it.

"While Mary's job in prison was to get to you, they waited until we caught on to the taunt. So when you told us about a 'Diane Donovan' that's when we knew." Says Derek.

"We interviewed Mary and that's when we found out she was working with Cat." Says Spencer softly. It's like he thinks if he talks any louder you'll break down. "She knew that she said too much and couldn't risk us finding out anything else, so-"

"That's when she killed her self." You finish. Spencer nods and you turn back to Hotch.

"I talked with the warden and we got an interview with Cat. Spencer went to see her the next day after visiting you again." He says.

"She told us about her working with Cat and that there was someone else on the inside but she wouldn't tell us who." Says David. "The only way she would tell us anything more is if Spencer went on a date with her."
