chapter 32 / time travelers

3rd person POV

High above the clouds, gliding across the ancient land of Wano, a strange ship like vehicle hovered in the air, invisible to the naked eye. It was so well camouflaged that not even the seagulls flying a little below would have noticed it's presence. That is hadn't a loud shout, coming from the seemingly empty patch of air, made them disperse in fear.

"Y/N it's time! Prepare yourself for a drop!"

The seagulls hadn't been the only ones to hear the shout. On the invisible vehicle an excited grin spread across the face of a (h/c) haired woman.
A glitter in her eyes, she jumped onto the railing of the ship, turning her head towards the little creature that had shouted towards her.
"Thanks again Lou. Say hi to past me from me!"
With that she grabbed a very perplexed looking parrot, that been sitting next to her and turned towards the endless fall, that would await her if she dared to step an inch further.

"Let's go mystery boy!"
She shouted.
"3, 2..."

"Wait what are y-"

"One!"
Before her poor feathery companion could comprehend what was happening the woman had finished her countdown.
Then a sudden burst of energy hit them, sucking them away from the ship. The flying vehicle disappeared, leaving them without any ground beneath their feet.

And so the two plummeted towards what  for most people would be certain death.
However the fear that such a fate should instill in any sane person was nowhere to be found.
The girl was laughing happily, as the sharp wind tore at her hair and even the parrot seem to be having a blast. Well after he noticed the lack of worry in the woman's face that is.
Free falling the two companions sped towards the ragged mountains of the land of Wano, approaching the hard ground at an accelerating speed.
Just as a slight hint of worry returned to the fiery parrots eyes the elven woman opened a kite (she had made appear from who knows where) and maneuvered a relatively smooth landing onto a patch of moss.
(Imagine the cloth/kite thingy Nami and Shinobu escaped with in the Wano-arc.)

Steadying herself Y/N released the parrot from her grasp. The adrenaline from the fall still cursing through her body.

"That was so much fun!"
She giggled, as the red bird disappeared to reveal a messed up dark haired man.
Sour he looked up at Y/N, but swallowed the salty remark that sat at the tip of his tongue. Instead he shook his head with an exasperated sigh and stood up, throwing his arm around her shoulder.

"I don't mind a little adventure and adrenaline. In fact as a pirate with two wild brothers and an even wilder crew I have done my fair share of stupid stuff.
But seriously Y/N the next time you jump of a flying ship please let go of me.
You were about to squeeze me to death."

"Ups, sorry." The elf laughed, before her doctor spirit kicked in and she examined Ace with a worried expression.
"I didn't hurt you, did I?"

"No it's fine."

"Are you sure?"

"Do you think that the great Portgas D Ace would be injured so easily?"
The young man asked, retracting his arm with an exaggeratedly hurt expression.
Which the women merely answered with a roll of her eyes and a small giggle.

"Well then, since you're fine we have no time to sit around. Let's get going. Toki is probably already waiting for us."

"In a rush are we?"
Ace asked, once again letting his arm fall around her shoulder.

"In fact, yes. Yes we are. So let's get going."
Y/N answered, beginning to walk towards their destination.
And so the two companions made their way through the ruff terrain of the land of Wano. His arm never left it's place on her shoulder.
