"Sasha?" I barely whispered, backing away from Eren's terrified face.

"Shit, Shasha, we gotta go!" I heard Connie mutter as the bushes rustled. I saw Sasha and Connie dart out from the brush and sprint away. I furiously chased after them, going for Connie first. I was much faster than him and caught up almost immediately. The second he noticed and turned around, it was too late. I swung my leg and knocked his feet out from under him, making him crash face down into the mud.

I straddled his back and grabbed his arm, pinning it behind him.

"Ow!" he whined, "Calm down, Y/N!"

I scowled and pulled his arm even farther back. Connie winced and tried kicking me off, but I wouldn't budge. After he stopped struggling, I stood up and stepped back, crossing my arms and staring down at him with fire in my eyes.

"Why were you watching us, stalker," I hissed as he held his arm and sat up, not daring to stand.

"I just came to see if you guys wanted to get food! Sasha was already looking at you and I just thought it was funny so I joined her!" He held his hands up in front of him defensively.

"Well, Sasha gets a pass," I said, turning towards the direction she'd run off in.

"What?" Connie exclaimed, "Why?"

I ignored him and chased after Sasha. Normally, I would've noticed her there, but I suppose I was a little distracted...

As I neared the back of the building used as barracks, I crossed my arms again and shifted my weight to one leg. "Come out now, weirdo," I teased, thinking it a little funny that she had actually managed to catch all that. If I could've gone back in time and relived this whole night, though, I would've taken care of her before she got the chance to observe anything.

Sasha quivered and stepped out from the shadows, her hands in the air. I giggled and smacked her in the face.

"Woah, what was that?" she asked, rubbing her cheek.

"What do you think that was for?"

"Sorry... I'm sorry. I really am," she said anxiously, "I just noticed you weren't asleep and I wanted to see what you were doing. What if you'd been getting food without me?" I laughed and rolled my eyes jokingly. She took this as forgiveness. "So you're not mad?" she grinned and jumped into the air.

"Being mad won't make anything better... but," I said, smirking, "you owe me one."

"Uh oh," Sasha joked, "Now I'm in trouble."

"Yes, you are!" I hugged her and started back towards the front of the barracks. I stopped dead in my tracks, realizing I'd left Eren standing there when I went to chase Connie down. I hurried over to the picnic table, but he was nowhere to be found. Guilt ate at my insides as I wiped the rain from my eyes. It was cold, but I hadn't noticed until now. The rain was annoying me, so I went back into the barracks and changed into different, much dryer clothes. Sasha quietly changed and climbed up to her bunk, beginning to snore from the moment her head hit the pillow.

I still felt sick as I crawled back into my bed, not bothering to lay under the blankets and just staring out of the leaky window. The rain blew against it, occasionally getting inside the room when the wind changed direction. I almost got up and went outside out of habit, but I caught myself. Though I tried to sleep, dawn crept up on me so quickly I didn't have time to realize it. I was mostly too busy worrying over the guilt of running away from Eren like that. The rain had slowed to just a sprinkle.

Sasha swung down from her bunk, surprised I was awake. She smiled at first, but it faded quickly and her eyes narrowed. "You slept, right?"

"Sure," I said, my mind elsewhere. I don't know where it was, either. She didn't seem to believe me but dropped it anyway.

"Let's go to breakfast," she held out her hand and helped me off my bunk, "it's our last day as cadets."

--

The wind pulled at my hair and threatened to blow me off the top of Wall Rose. Those in the 104th who'd decided to join the Scouts were standing atop the middle wall, doing maintenance on the fixed cannons and such.

"You're really joining the Survey Corps?" Eren exclaimed, "But you were so set on joining the Military Police!"

"Yeah, why else would I be here?" Connie said, pulling at something attached to a cannon.

"Your speech affected a lot of us," Mina, a fellow member of the 104th said, "including Connie."

"Joining the Scouts was my own decision!" Connie said defensively.

"Hey guys," Sasha was walking toward us, hiding something under her jacket. I sprinted to hug her.

"You're joining the Corps, too?" I asked excitedly, "Why didn't you tell me?" I stepped back and let her explain that she had only just decided because of what Eren said.

"Also, there's this," Sasha pulled out a huge piece of meat from inside her jacket.

"Titan meat!!" I shouted, my jaw hanging open.

"Sasha, do you want to end up in jail?" one of the other cadets cried after Sasha said she'd stolen it from a storage locker.

"We can all split it," she ignored him, "We'll slice it and make sandwiches!" Countless objections arose, but Sasha brushed them off, saying that once we retook Wall Maria, we'd have plenty of space for livestock. Everyone hesitated for a moment.

"Well, in that case, I certainly want some," I said, thinking of the delicious meat I could be eating right now. Lots of the other scouts agreed, turning back to their duties. I helped Sasha hide the meat in a crate and squatted next to Connie to help with the faulty cannon.

Out of nowhere, I was almost blinded by a huge yellow light, almost like lightning coming from the clouds. It struck right behind the wall, within Wall Maria, and a pair of enormous eyes appeared out of the blue.

The Colossal Titan was meters from us, standing just above the wall.

I froze in place, only to be blown away by a huge, burning, gust of wind. I felt the other cadets and I being flung off of the wall and quickly pulled the trigger on my ODM gear, barely catching myself. I shook with fury as I turned to see Connie and Sasha next to me, letting out a sigh of relief that they were okay. Mina, Eren, and Reiner all seemed to be fine, too. Bertholdt was gone. I noticed that Samuel, too, was missing, and spun my head around to see him unconscious, plummeting down the wall to his death.

Suddenly, Sasha disappeared from my side and shot down the wall, activating her ODM gear and stabbing him through the calf with the hook, saving his life. I heard Eren gasp to my left.

"The..." he breathed, slowly raising his voice, "The wall has been breached?"

Not again... the titans... they'll get in...

We, the humans were supposed to take back titan territory! Not have more of ours stolen! The incident with Wall Maria would happen all over again! People will die for no reason other than pointless titan hunger.

I can't let that happen. I'll annihilate every single one of them. No one else will suffer the pain I did.

"Fixed cannon maintenance team four!" Eren shouted, drawing his blades, "Prepare for combat!" I followed suit as he swung down from the side of the wall and flew to the Colossal Titan, "Our target is the Colossal Titan before us! This is our chance! Don't let it get away!"

I pulled the trigger on my ODM gear, landing next to Eren on the top of the wall. I quickly aimed for the massive nape in front of us and soared ahead of Eren to the huge titan.

The Colossal Titan would pay for what he did to my family.

And I'd make sure he did.
